Photo of the Week 52

Speaking of anniversaries… today is yet another one! Today’s post marks a full year of my Photo of the Week project. Some weeks I have agonized over how to narrow down more than 20 pictures that are each beautiful and unique while other weeks I find myself running around on the final day desperately trying to take a decent image. But whenever I’m feeling a little blue I look back through the Photo of the Week folder on my desktop and I can’t help but be amazed by the year I’ve had.

Week 52 Photo of the Week

Even though I’m rounding up Year One on this project with a cheat (I took this photo a little over a week ago) it just seems too perfect to pass up. Because right now, as I hop around my crazy summer travel schedule and try to figure out what my next move is I really do feel like the world is wide open to me… I can spin the globe and pick what is next.

I think I’m going to continue Photo of the Week for another year. What do you guys think, do you enjoy this feature?

I vote for photo #1. Oh, there’s only one photo? ;) Yes, please continue the photo of the week feature. I like how you always inject lots of personality into your weekly photo posts, it makes you different in a good way from all the other photo of the day/week blog posts out there. Oh and I really love the colorful blur of the globe, great photo!

Thanks Cat! When I started this feature I definitely didn’t want it to be a filler thing, where I just threw up a random picture once a week or day! Glad to hear that readers notice the difference :) Thanks!

I’m so happy with everyone’s feedback! Sometimes other bloggers’ daily/weekly photos kind of clog up my RSS reader and annoy me so I was half expecting that reaction :)

    Very clever

  12. Yes!!! Love your photography, and also the voting!!! This one is cute, a fitting ending to ‘your year in pictures’!

Thanks Sarah! Yeah the voting was something that evolved along the way but people really seem to like it and I LOVE it! Always fascinated to see everyone’s opinion.

  13. Heather says:

The photos are great! I don’t see them as filler, because there’s always a story. The ones that I find clog up my reader are the random shots with no back-story or explanation.

Enjoy spinning the globe! I met a couple once who chose their honeymoon destination that way. They’d never heard of the Seychelle Islands before, and loved their unique vacation!

    • Alex says:

Thank you so much Heather! I agree, those irk me. As for spinning the globe, I’m not doing it literally, but I do love the idea for the future!
