I’ve described Burning Man several times as simply a different universe. Never is this more true than at night. So for a nice lazy Saturday afternoon post, I wanted to share with you my photos of this alternative planet… after dark. As the sun begins to set, the temperature cools and neon lights blink to life along with many of Black Rock City’s nocturnal residents.

All the photos look amazing; it must be an incredible place!

The second from last large photo (this one: http://www.alexinwanderland.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/Burning-Man-At-Night_034.jpg) is my favourite – it gives a great sense of scale, action & wonder.

You blog is great, by the way. I stumbled across it by accident the other day & have become more than a little jealous at the experiences you’ve had all around the world! Life is definitely for living & reading your blog has made me realise just how little I’ve seen, tucked away in my small corner of the globe. Thanks for sharing your journey & all the best for future travels!

The one of you! You look gorgeous!!! What a surreal experience, I have loved experiencing it through your eyes since I think my large-scale festival days are behind me, and yet I’m intrigued by this concept. Thank you!

I love the second photo with the bikes! I like that time of night right after the sun has set but the sky is still lit up.

Hello Alex, Great group of pictures, great night photographer. I’m leaning toward two favorites, #34 I would title “innocence rejected” …a beautiful young lady appearing out of synch, with a perfect background to ” make up” the photo.GREAT SHOT ! I also liked 3rd large full frame from bottom, really speaks in an ‘anti-climactic” fashion, call it” take a breath”. Good luck, be careful.jb

Wow, these photos are mind-blowing! I understand how you’d need time after not only to catch up on sleep but to even just comprehend all that you’d seen whilst there!
My favourite image is the silhouette of the guy wearing the headdress.

Beautiful night time shots! My night time photo talent needs to be pump up a bit. Things always turn out blurry and unrecognizable! Either you’re a great photographer or there was SO MUCH neon that it was like daytime!

I love your photos, I really do! In Portugal we have a festival a bit similar to the Burning Man, with a different concept. It’s called Booom. If you ever come to Portugal, do not miss it 🙂

Wow! Amazing pictures, I wish my camera took pictures like that at night. Are you using an iPhone or what camera do you have? (Sorry for this rather technical question, but I have a biiiiig Europe-Asia trip coming up and I am looking into buying a new camera…)
My favorite would be … probably the last three, they really say “Burning Man” to me 😉
