Maui is the only island I have been too yet. Kauai was by far the most exciting. I spent ten days there and didn’t go to the beach once. There was so much else to do. I went on a different hike everyday and swam in 4 waterfalls. You have just as great an experience as I did.

WOW. Absolutely breath-taking photos! Kauai is my biggest Hawaiian destination dream, but Maui is turning into a close second. If I ever get the chance to go there, I am definitely taking this road trip!

I’ve been hearing about this blog for a while and only just stopped by to check it out. I’ve gotta say, I’m hooked! In reply to Dominique. It's an absolute must! But whether you camp or not, I just definitely advise staying at least one night somewhere around Hana -- or at least in Paia, so you start from the beginning of the Hana Highway!
