Hi there – loved reading your blog post! Been in Dahab for the last 10 years now – yeah, stuff happened – and I’d say you definitely missed out on a few good foodie spot! We have by now three vegan restaurants (I’ve only visited two yet, but they are both incredible! Amazingly creative, delicious food!). Then there’s Red Cat, which has delicious Russian food, some of the best pizzas in town and then some. Indian restaurant Namaste is really excellent as well. Most of my favorites are just off of the boulevard, in the Lighthouse area. Literally a 2 minute walk away from the boulevard! Let’s meet up next time you come to Dahab 🙂

Hi Alex,
Haven’t commented in a while but oh my word you just made me so excited for Dahab. I won 7 nights for two in Dahab at the Boot (biggest water sports trade show in Germany) and now I can’t wait to go. So looking forward to going diving there. ????

It looks so beautifully peaceful. I love that the locals also seem to have a high regard for nature and ensuring trash finds its way to the appropriate spot.

Hey Dom, I’m not sure if things have changed since you were there or we were given conflicting information, but most of the wait staff we came in contact with were actually Bedouins — or I suppose, perhaps it’s more accurate to say the children of Bedouins, because they are no longer free-roaming. Apparently it’s becoming more common all the time for them to settle into towns like Dahab. Our divemaster on our liveaboard was from Alexandria, but most everyone else we talked to was from Sinai.
