Hey Alex, great blog on diving in Koh Tao, and especially how us divers can help to spread awareness of the underwater environment. It’s really nice that you are helping to raise awareness of these problems. I live on Koh Lanta and last month we were out for 3 dives at the Koh Haa islands for 3 clean-up dives. We did find some underwater debris, but most of it was older fishing gear. In fact what surprised us was the lack of normal trash. I wonder if that was due to the lack of tourism caused by Covid? Less boats in the sea throwing their rubbish overboard? I’m not sure if you ever made it to Lanta from Koh Tao for any diving, but you may have heard the diving and snorkeling in the Andaman Sea is much better than the Gulf of Thailand. Next time you’re in Thailand, I think you’d really enjoying the diving around Koh Lanta, and the many smaller islands here in the south west.
