I love downtown but too often people think New Orleans is Bourbon Street. It hurts my heart a little.

I thought this series expressed the madness and joy that is Mardi Gras perfectly.

My favorite tradition is staying up all Lundi Gras night and then walking to Zulu. I am almost always get sick after Mardi Gras. It reminds me of this quote: “People don’t live in New Orleans because it is easy. They live here because they are incapable of living anywhere else in the just same way.” – Ian McNulty
