Hey there! All instructors definitely create their own playlists. I think there’s just a very collective vibe and a lot of the teachers go to each other’s classes, so it’s easy for everyone to get excited about certain songs at the same time, ha. Creating playlists is part of the curriculum — the technical side (fading in and out, volume stabilizing, etc.) but also how to flow from warm up to high energy to cool down. It’s one of my favorite parts!

Quick question for you – do all instructors make their own playlists? I’ve noticed overlap in some classes, so I’m curious if there’s a few blanket songs all instructors use, or if someone else at the studio creates them. If you make them yourself, what does that process look like? I’m always brainstorming my own Y7 playlists, so I’d love to hear 🙂

The entire process definitely gave me a huge new appreciation for the teachers I study with whenever I take a class now! SO much goes into every class!

Ian did! He zipped through New York for literally two days en route to a bachelor party — and of course I dragged him out for a photo shoot in the middle of them, ha.
