Pride Party Extension
Tel Aviv
June 9-12, 2022
Join us for a four-day retreat extension in Tel Aviv to celebrate one of the world’s greatest Pride parties. Annually, over 250,000 people converge on what is known as the Gay Capital of the Middle East for this epic explosion of color, joy, and love and good times — and we’re joining them!
After we finish swinging from the ceiling or before we start swinging from a pole (literally!), do so metaphorically for one of the the wildest parties in the world — Pride in Tel Aviv! Join us for our opening Rainbow Walking Tour, an impossibly scenic beachside Pride Parade, an optional upgrade to a joyful day rave in Yarkon — Israel’s answer to Central Park — and finally, the option to upgrade to a hangover day trip to recharge at The Dead Sea.

The Itinerary
Subject to change, and expect surprises, but here’s the general idea.
Day 1: Tour Day! Gather for a Rainbow Tour to learn why Tel Aviv is the gay epicenter of the Middle East! Our guides will offer us a bold and unfiltered view of Tel Aviv’s vibrant and colorful LGBTQA community to kick off our weekend. The city will be filled with kickoff events — think Elton John tribute sing alongs, bustling clubs, and beyond. We’ll help you navigate!
Day 2: Parade Day! More than 250,000 people take to the streets and beaches of Tel Aviv to celebrate love in all forms. Pack your brightest rainbow gear! We’ll start the party together and make our way along the parade route, from city to sea.
Day 3: Party Day! It’s a Choose Your Own Adventure: either spend your Saturday on a curated hop of rainbow-hued beach bars like the iconic Hilton Bay’s Absolute Beach & Surf or, join an optional Closing Party Upgrade to the annual Offer Nissim show at Yarkon Park, Tel Aviv’s most iconic green space. Known as the Godfather of Gay in Israel’s music scene, Offer Nissim hosts a festival-like day party for fans who come from around the world (think: day rave!). We’ll nab tickets, navigate logistics, and have a party bus to whisk us there and back.
Day 4: Hangover Day! Whew, that was a blast! It’s time to say shalom to Israel — for now! Not ready to go? If you’re catching a red-eye out of Tel Aviv, upgrade to our Dead Sea Hangover Day, where you can slather yourself in healing mineral muds, float away your troubles and sip on a mimosa at the Lowest Bar on Earth (it’s 1,385 feet below sea level!)
Where We’ll Stay and What We’ll Eat
We’ll stay in a stylish, centrally located boutique hotel with plenty of places to luxuriate at the end of crazy Pride festivities! Tel Aviv is one of the most expensive cities in the world, but we’ve managed to secure a group rate thanks to our many back-to-back retreats there this year. If you opt for shared accommodation but if you’re traveling solo, fear not, so are most of our Wander Women guests! We’ll do our best to pair you with someone we think you’ll click with — and we’ll all be besties by the end anyway.
Breakfast is included every day — so fuel up for fun! Because Pride is a big city-wide party and you never quite know where your days will take you, lunch and dinner are not included, though you’ll definitely have friends to share meals with. Israel is also one of the vegan and vegetarian capitals of the world — all diets can be accommodated.
Meet Your Hosts
On this trip you’ll be traveling with Wander Women Retreats founder Alexandra Baackes and High Flying Retreats founder Brenna Bradbury as your hosts and resident hype-girls.
Alex fell in love with Israel’s hospitality, culture, and adventures immediately upon her first trip in 2018 and loved it so much she’s been back five times since! She loves traveling the world attending festivals and Pride in Tel Aviv is one of her favorite.
Brenna is honored to be an avid supporter of the LGBTQ+ community and to attend the world’s most vibrant Pride celebration in Tel Aviv! Brenna is the co-producer of Let Them Eat Cake, an aerial extravaganza that, during the pandemic, donated over $20,000 to organizations and individuals in need, including Third Wave Fund, Stilettos Inc, Planned Parenthood, Black Sex Workers Collective, Swop Brooklyn, WomanKind and many more. She is a New York City aerialist, producer, and instructor, and can’t wait to celebrate Pride with her students and new friends!

A $250 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your spot. The same payment timeline and terms and conditions of your retreat apply to any extensions you may book. Don’t hesitate to email us at retreats@alexinwanderland.com with any and all questions regarding this extension!
F.A.Q.
How do I get home from Tel Aviv?
Ben Gurion Airport (TLV) is only 20 minutes away by train, 45 minutes by car and one hour by bus from the city center. Costs range from $10-$80 depending on your budget and your preferred mode of transport. More details are on the sales page for the retreat of your choice!
Who exactly will be traveling on this extension? How large will the group be?
This extension will be available to guests from High Flying Israel: Aerial and Wander Women Israel: Yoga, so it will be a big group! While Wander Women Retreats are women-only, High Flying Retreats are open to all — so this extension will be, too.
I’m not a party person! Are you going to drag me to a rave and make me drink shots of arak?
No! Your hotel room is always your sanctuary to return to. However, Pride is a city-wide celebration in Tel Aviv. Prepare for a carnival-like atmosphere for a couple of days.
I want to extend my trip to explore more of Israel. Any suggestions?
Of course! First of all, consider joining more of our retreats and extensions.
Beyond that, check out our destination page for our posts about the Dead Sea, Eilat, Jerusalem, Negev Desert, Tel Aviv — and feel free to email us for more info and ideas! Alex has traveled Israel extensively. We offer an hour of complimentary consultation on expanding your trip, after which we will offer our hourly consulting at a special retreat guest rate.
How much money will I need to bring?
Tel Aviv is one of the most expensive cities in the world! You can expect to spend a minimum of 50NIS ($15USD) for lunch or 100NIS ($30USD) for dinner, depending on where you go and what you order.
