Ha, I enjoy that challenge too! Some of my favorite blog posts I’ve written are from places other people hate but I loved, like Guatemala City. It makes me happy to find something to adore in an unappreciated place — not that the UK falls into that category, ha!

I completely agree, I think absolutely every destination in the world can be a fantastic destination as long as you do it properly for you. And as long as you keep an open mind and give everywhere a chance. I was prepared to hate Paris but then decided heck I have to go there anyway, might as well try to enjoy it. And I just avoided the major tourist things I wasn’t too thrilled about and had a great time. I kind of think of it as a challenge actually; anytime I have an errant thought of “oh I probably wouldn’t like that place” I decide that now I actually have to travel there and find out for real
