In reply to Alex. I went to Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand. It was my first trip to SE Asia and I'd expected to LOVE it. I definitely need to go back when I'm in a different frame of mind.

Where you were last carefree. Where you felt sexy and young and silly. Where you felt inspired and successful and passionate. Where you felt the weight of zero worlds on your shoulder.”

This resonated so much. Even without an immense weight like you were carrying, I often look back on travel as times when I’ve felt free and light and sexy and young. Something about being in a different environment – I’m not sure it even matters which one – lightens the mental load. I took a long trip last summer, but for whatever reason I felt like I failed to really shed the weight of home, and that was really hard for me. It was still a good trip, but I missed the magic.
