I found $30/day in Thailand to be very much a pipe dream if you want to have a good time, especially in the south! Beer is cheap, but liquor isn’t…and I’m not a beer drinker!

I just discovered your blog and I love it! As someone who is half Thai it’s great to see travellers coming to Thailand and enjoying it. I don’t get why all the guidebooks keep mentioning this $30/day business though. If you want to enjoy the country comfortably it’s going to cost a lot more than that!
