Cancer is such a horrible thing that should never happen to anyone. I have so much respect and admiration for your honesty and rawness when speaking of it, and selfishly it makes me feel less alone (we have to wait until January at least for tests to indicate whether my dad has cancer still or not). To echo the others who have said the same above, you are definitely what draws us in, not only with your travels but the way in which you share your travels. Despite having never met you in person, the way you write feels like I’m reading the adventures of a close friend, and I absolutely love that about this blog. Sending nothing but love and well wishes for you and your family during this <3

My mom isn’t sick like yours, and I’m not close with her, but she’s been hospitalized and will be again. I don’t envy what you’re going through, but I admire your strength. Lots of love.

Your income, number of posts, and/or ability to take on new projects may have changed, but as a long-time reader I will respectfully disagree that your blog has suffered this past year. Alex, I may have found your blog because it is (mainly) a travel blog, but that is not why I keep coming here. And I bet a lot of your readers are the same.

You are Alex in Wanderland and this brand is you, whether you’re being a carefree, travel-loving beach babe or a tired, grief-filled, caretaker for your mother. Whatever you decide you want to be next, if you keep writing about it, I’ll be reading it.

It may be long overdue but you’d be glad you post it up on your blog. After many years, my recollection of the places I went to are passing me by (I may have snapped some photos) but I’d like to remember every step of the way. The way you record it through your journal/blog has a sentimental value. You will cherish it forever, so will we.
