Hi,
I had the same problem with shark restaurants in koh Samui- they are everywhere! And it’s always baby sharks. Disgraceful! Glad to hear you steered clear.

Hi Jana,

I definitely recommend exploring Koh Samui’s waterfalls. They are beautiful! I also love the Ice Bar in Chaweng Beach (fun for the novelty- and the photos!) And you must, must, must go to Ang Thong National Park! Have a look at my post about it for some ideas 🙂 Good luck!

now i can make informed decisions 😉

we are a group of 14 friends travelling to koh samui (most of them their first time abroad!) and can’t wait.

we’re not big party animals, but like to explore and laugh and share good times together.

any tips would be great 😉

In reply to Krista C.. I think when I go back in December I'm going to go a little crazy and print up some cards explaining in a sentence or two why we aren't eating at that restaurant. There are touts outside every place trying to drag you in but its hard to explain the concept of why we were saying no with the language barrier. And yes, the ice bar was hilarious!

The photos of you and Mark in the ice bar are hysterical, you look like you had a great time. This was a very balanced view of Koh Sumui, which I appreciate.
The widespread eating of shark is very disappointing though:( What a bummer.
