When I first traveled to Koh Tao I was AMAZED by how easy it was to make friends... probably why I ended up moving here :) People are less busy here, I think, and that makes it much easier to ask someone you've seen at yoga to grab lunch, or to end up bonding with a guy you keep seeing eating dinner at your local bar. When you strip away a lot of what keeps us running in circles stateside, it leaves a lot more time for bonding, starting random conversations, and picking up new and easy friendships!
