In reply to Finch. Hey Finch, I appreciate that. I'm sad to share that Prada passed away last spring, but she did so at home with us in New York surrounded by lots of love. Yogi is still living it up in England. I miss the Banyan days fiercely!

Whenever I feel nostalgic about Koh Tao, I read about your experiences and identify with many of them. I don’t know how we have never met considering the years and places where our paths crossed over, and the people in your photographs and writing about Koh Tao.

I’m a reformed (or deformed, or malformed, it’s hard to tell) Banyan inmate and I’m super happy to see that Prada has a family! She and Yogi had this uncanny knack for knowing when I had to be awake early in the morning and they used to follow me home (without me knowing) then demand food and water and scratches and a cool spot on the lounge room tiles. I hope she is (or has) enjoyed her retirement.

Sad to see the end of an era – but deep down, deep deep deep down, we know we’ll be back. Even though it won’t quite be the same…

I randomly stumbled across this article and was amazed at how you spent 7-8 years here. I recently went to Thailand and wanted to go to here but went to Krabi instead.

Seems like I maybe made the wrong choice, because your story and pictures make this place look amazing!

Thailand is amazing, I spent only two months there and I already miss it a lot. I miss the food and people’s smiles. Great you were able to call this country home. Best of luck for you in the future 🙂
