It’s weeks like this that I’m grateful for this Photo of The Week project I’ve had going for two hundred and thirty-five weeks now. Today, I woke up and realized it was over a week since I’d pulled out any sort of camera, yet it was time to post my weekly update. It’s just been one of those weeks — we all have them — when I’ve gotten totally lost in my work and barely realized seven whole days had passed. So this evening, after the home practice yoga workshop I’ve been looking forward to all week, instead of running straight home back to my laptop, I headed down to the beach with my camera in hand and spent some time soaking up this gorgeous sunset for a bit first. So thank you for that, Photo of The Week.
The reason I’ve been hitting the keys so hard this week? I’m off on vacation! This week, Ian and I are heading off to Bangkok and Siem Reap — a little getaway you’ll hear a lot more about next week. Till our departure, I’m doubling down in order to schedule a full two weeks of posts ahead of time — aside from these Sunday real-time updates, of course. While writing posts is only a fraction of what makes up my work day, taking that off the table will definitely allow me to mostly switch off while we’re traveling and also enjoy some holiday down-time once we’re back on the island. And that’s something to cheers to!
Hope you’re having a beautiful week wherever you are and whatever you’re celebrating…

Enjoy Siem Reap…Ankor Wat is stunning.
Champay Restaurant has the BEST fresh spring rolls I’ve ever had if you get hungry after gorgeous temple hopping 🙂
I’ve heard great things about Champay! Hoping we can squeeze it in…
Love photo D! I’m going to Siem Reap in less than a month and am excited to see your pictures. Have a great time!
This will be my third trip there — I love it! Hope we both have awesome trips 🙂

Photo C! Took my breath away 🙂
Thanks Miss Leah! That’s quite the compliment 🙂
I also love Photo A!
It’s pretty lucky that you can pop out with your camera and take amazing photos like this. The benefit to living in a paradise I suppose 😛
Absolutely! Sometimes I just have to pinch myself…
Normally I’m a sucker for the pretty sunset colors, but something about C just gives me a sense of calm. Beautiful!
Thanks Mary. It was so nice to sit there and watch the sky change colors.
Love them all but Photo C is my favourite!
Thanks Sarah! Seems like a popular choice this week 🙂
I love these photos! But if I had to pick a favourite, I’d definitely go with C. It’s stirring up something inside of me… maybe awe? haha.
Have fun on your getaway! 🙂
Thanks Ella! It was awesome 🙂
Photo B. Crushing it with that Yoga and Sunset photo. Well done.
One of my go-to faves! Thanks 🙂
Um, all of them? I guess if I were forced to choose, I’d pick C, but really, it’s all of them.
Thanks Marni! They definitely do work nicely as a set this week.
All of them are beautiful, but I love photo A! 🙂
Have a wonderful vacation!
Thank you Jamie! It was fantastic!
Photo C gets my vote….it depicts serenity and calmness…have a wonderful and relaxing trip xx
Thank you! It was a dream!
OMG is all I have to say
🙂
All beautiful shots, but I have to go with Photo A!
Thanks Ashley! I’m lucky to live in a place where it’s so easy to find subjects 🙂
Beautiful pics! Love the blog I got a link to it from Audrey at thatbackpacker.com
She thought you might have more information for me. My fiancé and I are planning on getting married in Thailand and then starting at least a 3 month Southeast Asia backpacking trip and I have no idea where to start? First thing first any places come to mind for a wedding? Koh Tao seems very nice, you seem to have spent some time there so any input would be great! Thanks!
Hey Cera! Weddings on Koh Tao are rare but super special. I know there is one wedding planner on the island you can find here: https://www.afairytaowedding.com. Weddings are much more common on Koh Samui or Phuket, where you’ll find more services (but don’t let that discourage you from a beautiful place like Koh Tao!) Good luck!
Photo A and D. Loved that outstanding view.
Thanks Anu. It’s a special one!
All pictures are ultimate.
Thanks for voting, Himanashi!
