Aloha from Hawaii! I’ve been here in Oahu for almost a week and I’m loving it, especially after an airport disaster almost made me miss my flight (more on that drama later!) The weather is warm and mild, the scenery is stunning, and the atmosphere is buzzing with energy. I am feeling particularly indecisive this week over photos, but I’m also feeling excited at finally having options again! Photo of the Week was kind of painful at this this summer when I was based at home in New York, so I’m SO happy to be back on the road again and photographically inspired. This, you have tons of candidates to vote for this week…

Photo A
Lighthouse Point, Hawaii

Within a few hours of landing my friend Wim had me running up Makapu’u Trail to catch the sunset! It was so nice to stretch my legs after an eleven hour flight.

Photo B
Pearl Harbor Memorial

The next day, Wim and I visited Pearl Harbor. The USS Arizona memorial was beautiful and moving.

Photo C
Waikiki Beach, Hawaii

Day three and my friend Heather arrived and we went for a stroll on famous Waikiki Beach. This is the Hawaii I pictured in my head!

Photo D
Honololu at Sunrise, Hawaii

Heather and I watched Honolulu come to life from our early morning dive boat. I loved diving right off the city coast, it was a surreal experience!

Photo E
Diving Oahu

Oahu is famous for wreck diving, and the Sea Tiger did not disappoint!

Photo F
Oahu Beaches

On the way up to the North Coast, where I’m spending the weekend in a rustic rental house steps from the beach!

I have one more week on Oahu, and I’m looking forward to skydiving, surfing, and more hiking! Then it’s onto the Big Island

Sadly, a surfer somewhere in vintage Waikiki is without a boom box.

I’m going to be different and vote for D–I like the lighting in the sky and on the water, and the silhouette of the black buildings against the light sky. But, of course, they’re all beautiful!

I love that one too! The light was so beautiful as the sun rose over Honolulu. Sometimes I’m glad when a dive boat wakes me up so early!

I went to Oahu last summer for a family vacay and Waikki wasn’t really my cup of tea, but I di love the North Shore! I vote for photo D, so beautiful. Are you headed to Kauai at all? I’ve been to all of the other islands now so that’s where I’d stop next.

I just spent the weekend on the North Shore, and I LOVED it! What an amazing place. Sadly not making it to Kauai on this trip — but I am heading to Big Island and Maui as well!
