Somehow time has started to move at a much faster pace — and I don’t think its going to slow down anytime soon. I started this week in Albany, headed south to New York City, and tomorrow I leave for Florida.
With my big trip fast approaching, I’m busy doing all that annoying-but-necessary pre-travel business — doctor’s appointments, gear replacement and repair, visa applications, etc. Also, I’ve been blessed this month with tons of freelance work, which is helping my budget but also keeping me working overtime. And of course, I’m trying to squeeze in holiday fun and time with friends and family, who I’ll soon be saying goodbye to for five long months.
This week, my Canon T2i dSLR is off getting its flash repaired, so this round of Photo of the Week candidates come courtesy of my Canon S100 Point and Shoot and even a borrowed iPhone!
Photo A
Back in Albany, my mom and I brought Tucker to buy a Christmas tree. As you can tell, he took the mission very seriously.
Photo B
I love New York City during the holidays. The lights, the festive atmosphere — it just feels like Christmas.
Photo C
Another favorite New York City December sighting — trees being sold on the sides of the busy streets.
Photo D
Saturday — shopping at the Brooklyn Flea holiday market. Saturday night — raging at a dance party at an abandoned church in Bushwick. I have to say it one more time — I love New York!
Which photo is your favorite?
PS: This week I’m blabbing about how to survive the holiday travel season over at Eagle Creek. Check it out!
Haha, it has to be number one. It’s a cheeky photo of a dog, but really endearing. The S100 seems to take really good shots, I keep humming and haring over whether I should buy one.
Marco, I can’t recommend the s100 more highly! I wrote a whole post about my love for it here.
A is soooo cute!
Tucker says thanks 🙂
Oh, I love the photo of Tucker; he’s so cute! But from a photography standpoint, B is my favorite.
Happy holidays, Alex, and good luck with all of your trip prep!
Thank you Jen! I had a total nightmare with my visa to Thailand, but fingers crossed it’s all resolved and tomorrow it will be one stamp fuller. Oh, the bureaucracy of travel!
Tucker wins!!!!!!!!!!!!
D, however is fascinating because of the matching (almost) architectural elements.
That’s what I loved about D too! I would have guessed that would be the winner but I guess Tucker can’t be beat 🙂
Photo A for sure!
The FL weather will be a nice break from all that snow! It was in the 80s in Tampa today 🙂
It’s so good to be here! 🙂 A little cloudy today, but I got to swim with manatees so I’m not complaining!
Love this weeks snaps, Alex! But I have to go with your gorgeous dog with snow flakes on his face. Adorable! Happy holidays my dear x
Happy holidays to you as well Sarah! Hope you are spending them somewhere exotic and lush. Mine will be in Albany with Tucker this year 🙂
I’m a sucker for Tucker 🙂
Who would have guessed the puppy pic would win by a landslide!
Tucker is definitely adorable, but I love city shots at night, so my favorite is B. Hope the trip prep goes well!
Good to hear a dissenting opinion Alexa 🙂 And thanks — I would think with so much travel under my belt I wouldn’t have to do quite so much travel prep anymore but it turns out a five month trip requires a bit of pre-planning no matter how you shake it out!
Is this is a rhetorical question???? A of course…..I agree with RIka, I am a sucker for Tucker
Haha, well I know it was no contest for you!
as a brand new doggie owner, i have to go with A.
Awww, congrats Annie! What kind of puppy did you get? What’s his/her name? I could talk dog all day.
TUCKER TUCKER TUCKER
I don’t think there’s ever been such a strong consensus! Glad you enjoyed 🙂
B is my favorite, but OMG I love Tucker. Can you send him to winter in TN so Ella has a bud?
I wish I could, considering Tucker usually only plays with smaller dogs (he’s mean to big ones — defense mechanism I think!) but you’d have to fight my Dad for him — currently they are wintering together in Philadelphia. And considering my Dad’s tucker obsession, it would be a tough fight!
Great pictures. I am headed to NY for new years (my first time). Your photo’s got me excited!
Ah, New York at Christmas is magical. You’ll love it, enjoy!
