I love the water droplets as well, they add to the photo and feel more realistic (I use a Sony TX-10 as my waterproof camera but I still like having the water spots every once in a while)! Good to hear you went out and enjoyed Songkran — especially for that sunset! Unreal.

In reply to John. John, funny you mention that because I just responded to another comment that I HATE those drops on my photos! So I'm glad they don't bother everyone as much as me! I think an actual waterproof camera, as opposed to a camera in a case with a big lens that can get droplets on it (what I had) would have been better. But I'm just grateful I had something to document the madness with!

In reply to Diana. Hi Diana! I brought out my point-and-shoot in a waterproof housing (see more info on my gear page). It was great because my camera was safe, but all the water spots on my photos are really frustrating! In this case an actual waterproof camera, as opposed to a camera in a case with a big lens that can get droplets on it would have been better. I simply left my phones at home where they would be safe, though other people tried plastic bags and such- none of it worked :)

In reply to Fidel. Luckily as we were near the beach most people refilled their water guns with warm seawater! There were one or two meanies who filled theirs with ice water or gross pond water and I gave them some serious side-eye. And thanks for your input about writing. I guess I know that I always want to be true to my experience but sometimes it feels like such a downer to write about this holidays that every! single! person! loves! and say, yeah I was miserable that day, ha. But hey- people even cry on Christmas :)
