In reply to Isabel. Hey Isabel, you are welcome! I didn't book anything ahead in Laos, just showed up and poked around. If you do want to, I suggest Agoda, which is always the best for Southeast Asia accommodation. Hope that helps!

Hey Alex, Thanks for sharing your adventures with us. I will be going to Laos (luang prabang, Vientiane and vang vieng) beginning of march and found it quite difficult to find cheap/decent accommodation over internet. any tips?? thanks

In reply to Jlo. Hey! That's a tough question, as I love both places. But with only five days, you could at most spend two full days in each and one day mostly in transit (getting from Point A to Point B is slow moving in Laos). Also, the tubing is totally shut down now in Vang Vieng so if that was your reason for wanting to go.... Personally, I loved Luang Prabang and could happily fill five days there! Make sure to check out the night market, the morning market, the many temples, the Kuang Si falls and the Buddha Cave, and the Octo Pop arts center!

I absolutely love your blog! I’m heading to Laos end of the month for only 5 days and 4 nights. Would you recommend only staying in Luang P. or also stretch it out and visit Vang Vieng as well? Thanks Alex!
