Went to Koh Tao a couple of years ago and loved it’s diminutive size and laidback feel which was only topped when we visited Gili Air last year. Heading to Perhentians this year and this post is making me all the more excited!

In reply to Alyssa Jaren. It would be impossible for me to compare, as I've done hundreds(?) of dives in Koh Tao versus just three or so in the Perhentians when I was fresh off my open water :) I'd love to go back now though and do a proper comparison!

Love your post on this one! Perhentian Island has been the firm favorite if I ever need a quick getaway in Malaysia, but I love the perspective you’ve put into this one.

Quick question tho – which dive sites do you prefer? Perhentian or Koh Tao?
