Wander Women Maldives:
A Dive + Spa Liveaboard
Deep South, Maldives
February 21-28, 2026
Treat yourself to the ultimate escape — no plus-one required! Spend your days diving or snorkeling in some of the world’s most pristine waters, unwinding with daily spa treatments, exploring remote islands and sandbars, and soaking up sun-drenched moments with your new travel besties. With just the right mix of pampering, play, and awe-inspiring nature, this retreat blends barefoot luxury with bold exploration — and trust us, it’s an experience you won’t want to miss.
We’re heading back to ScubaSpa for our fourth unforgettable liveaboard adventure in the Maldives — but as always, with a fresh twist. In 2022, we explored the iconic Central Route (read about it here, here and here!). In 2024, we locked in the most sought-after week of the year for manta encounters on the Northern Route; and in 2025, we’re exploring a custom route designed specifically for our first ever freediving retreat.
For 2026, we’re switching things up again — charting a course through the remote and pristine Deep South Route. Whether you’re discovering the Maldives for the first time or coming back for more, the deep south reveals a more untamed, untouched side of paradise — a place where barefoot beauty and epic adventures await around every corner.
This one-of-a-kind route intersperses colorful coral gardens with thrilling channel dives where currents draw in majestic manta rays, gentle whale sharks, and jaw-dropping sightings of grey reef sharks, and the occasional hammerhead or thresher. And yes, we’re doing the iconic Fuvahmulah dives, where we’ll be humbled by sightings of the ocean’s guardians, tiger sharks. Dolphins are also common sightings, and we’ll have the dinghy ready to take us to play when we hear their clicks and chirps!
It’s a more remote, less-traveled part of the Maldives — wild, raw, and ideal for those craving a true sense of exploration, with lagoons and islands all to ourselves. ScubaSpa warned us that once our group goes South, they’ll never want to come back anywhere else!
Whether you’re a certified diver or a snorkel queen, this retreat wraps up the very best of the Maldives into one soul-filling, sea-splashed adventure. Beyond the dive deck, we’ll explore remote sandbars, paddleboard over glassy lagoons, enjoy private beach BBQs under the stars, leap off the top deck as we cross the equator, and cozy up for movie nights on deck. Your days will flow seamlessly between world-class underwater experiences, blissful spa sessions, creative workshops, and movement that meets you where you are — from breezy yoga flows to floating meditations. We pride ourselves on creating a once-in-a-lifetime (or a couple-times-in-a-lifetime, as many of our repeat Maldives guests will tell you!) experience you won’t find elsewhere.
We couldn’t bring this dream itinerary to life without our shark queen, Rayna from Ocean Rays Photography, who will be onboard once again, capturing every magical moment — whether you’re drifting beside a turtle, gliding past a manta, or just soaking up the sun with your favorite people on a deserted beach. By the end of the week, your heart will be full — and thanks to our professional photographer, so will your camera roll.
This retreat is made for ocean lovers of all kinds — whether you’re blowing bubbles below the surface or floating happily above it. So rally your mermaid crew or come solo and find your people onboard — because together, you’ll soak up the magic of the Maldives and make memories that will stay with you long after your tan fades.
Never want the fun and relaxation to end? Join us for our two-night Overwater Bungalow Extension — the ultimate ‘bestiemoon’ experience! Details coming soon…
The Details
This floating retreat will be held from Saturday, February 21-28, 2026. The cost, which includes nearly everything for the week — and builds in taxes and fees most liveaboard prices leave out — starts at $5,900 for a triple cabin. See the full list of room types here.
Each guest will choose their preferred package type, with options listed below.

*This is ScubaSpa’s most premium route — for a reason! • Alcohol not included in the itinerary
• Nitrox (available for upgrade)
• Dive computers (available to rent) — please note that dive computers are required in the Maldives

The Itinerary
The below itinerary is a sample planned route — but as we want our trip to be unforgettable, we’ll constantly be in search of unique experiences. The exact itinerary is subject to changes due to season, weather conditions and circumstances. And of course, expect a few Wander Women surprises thrown in!
Day 1: Welcome to the Maldives, where the only thing on your to-do list is relax! We’ll scoop you up from Gan International Airport and whisk you straight to the yacht. Drop your bags, kick off your shoes, and ease into vacation mode with a yin yoga massage class to shake off those travel kinks. Later, we’ll gather for a welcome drink and quick safety briefing as we cruise toward the northern tip of Addu Atoll, our dreamy anchor spot for the next day. As the sun sets, we’ll head to the deck for a breezy al fresco dinner crafted by our onboard culinary wizards. You’ve officially arrived – let the good vibes begin!
Day 2: Day two kicks off with your first official dive in the Maldives — and trust us, it’s a jaw-dropper. We’ll explore Addu Atoll’s vibrant outer reefs and coral-laced walls, where eagle rays glide by and reef sharks patrol the blue. If conditions allow, we’ll descend on the famous British Loyalty Wreck, a sunken WWII oil tanker now buzzing with life. Between dives, lounge on the sundeck, get pampered at the spa, or dive into a book while the ocean sparkles around you. In the afternoon, we’ll drop in for a drift dive along a manta cleaning station — keeping your eyes peeled for graceful giants hovering in for their own spa day. As the sky turns gold, we’ll gather on deck for another epic meal and swap first-day dive stories under the stars. After dinner, opt to stargaze or, now that you’ve slipped back into mermaid mode, attend an Underwater Posing Workshop in our freshly glowed up Shutter Squad Photography Track with Alex and Rayna. Later why not check out that rooftop jacuzzi — cheers to us!
Day 3: Rise and shine with a gentle morning yoga session on the deck as the sun peeks over the horizon — the perfect way to stretch out and set your intentions for a day of adventure. Today, we’re exploring the wild blue of Fuvahmulah, one of the Maldives’ most legendary dive spots. First up: Tiger Zoo, where tiger sharks make regular appearances; then, it’s time for a deep blue drift along Fuvahmulah’s dramatic wall, where you might spot thresher sharks, oceanic mantas, or even a hammerhead if luck’s on our side. The sheer unpredictability of Fuvahmulah is part of its thrill — you never know what might cruise by! Cheers to a great third day – we’ll toast to it with happy hour and a sip + stretch yoga class served on a sandbar, followed by a special shark-themed craft night.
Day 4: Another day, another spectacular dive or morning flow! This morning we’re waking up in Huvadhoo where we’ll jump in the channels and cruise alongside the locals and soak up every bit of its magic. Above water, enjoy an Underwater Photography Workshop with Rayna, where she’ll share a wealth of information on how to level up your underwater snaps. After a refreshing morning dip and a leisurely lunch, we’ll return to the water to explore a handful of nearby reefs. Tonight, we’ll gather for a beachside BBQ under the moonlight, feet in the sand and great food on our plates. Back onboard, we’ll wind down the day with a guided meditation beneath the stars — a quiet moment to reflect and reset.
Day 5: After a morning meditation and sunrise slow flow salutations on a secluded beach, we’ll enjoy another day diving Huvadhoo Atoll — one of the largest and least explored atolls in the Maldives. Today’s diving is all about channel action — think thrilling currents, sweeping drifts, and high chances of encountering grey reef sharks, eagle rays, and swirling schools of jacks. Between dives, relax on deck, hit the spa, or soak in some bubbles on the rooftop jacuzzi. Or, head back to class for the final Shutter Squad presentation, an Underwater Editing Workshop with Rayna! As evening rolls in, we’ll anchor in a quiet lagoon and enjoy a relaxed dinner onboard, before gathering on deck for a movie night under the stars.
Day 6: Day six begins with a grounding sunrise yoga session as we prepare for another round of epic diving in Huvadhoo Atoll. Today we’ll explore more of the region’s renowned kandu, or channel sites, where strong currents bring big rewards — schools of snapper, cruising reef sharks, and the occasional eagle ray drifting effortlessly through the blue. Expect fast-paced drifts, vibrant coral walls, and plenty of action. In the afternoon, divers will complete a Project Aware clean up dive while the land-lubbers helm a beach clean up – a Wander Women tradition – on a deserted island (so once we leave, it will be empty of trash, too!). In the evening, add a fresh new certification to your lineup by completing your PADI Aware Shark Conservation Speciality with Rayna and becoming a torch-bearer for oceans everywhere.
Day 7: This morning, we’ll drop into two final kandu dives, making the most of Huvadhoo’s legendary channels one last time! Non-divers can enjoy snorkeling, SUPing, spa treatments, and our daily yoga class, as well as a shark latte art class (and perhaps even an impromptu napkin folding workshop — IYKYN). In the evening we’ll anchor up in a top secret location for a night snorkel session where we’ll (fingers crossed) get up close and personal with some big spotty friends. Finally, we’ll gather for our farewell cocktail and a final dinner at the al fresco restaurant on the yacht and a themed send-off sea feté.
Day 8: We’re not crying, you’re crying! Today we say goodbye to our beautiful floating home. After a final closing circle, we’ll send you off with big hugs and full hearts and photo libraries. Unless you’re joining us for our Overwater Bungalow Extension (coming soon!) and in that case, get ready to continue the fun for another three days!
Where We’ll Stay and Where We’ll Eat
This isn’t your average liveaboard dive vessel! We’ll be seeing the best of the Maldives from a luxury yacht, awarded as a PADI 5 Star Dive Resort, complete with spacious cabin suites, the world’s largest onboard spa, a top deck jacuzzi, and much more. Rooms are spread along two decks and feature panoramic windows or port lights, and all rooms have air conditioning and en suite bathrooms with hot showers. Single and Shared suites are available — read more about room types here!
When you’re not relaxing in your roomy cabin, you’ll be luxuriating and enjoying the yacht’s ample amenities. The nearly thousand square foot spa is the largest of its kind. The spa spans two decks, six treatment rooms, a secluded deck for open-air Thai massage or meditation and a spa lounge for relaxation. And of course, in typical Wander Women style, we’ll get our yoga on! Some days we’ll flow on the shaded deck, while some days we’ll hit a private beach for our asanas. The rest of the day, bathe in the tropical climate on the spacious sun-deck to melt away all your stress. And it wouldn’t be complete without an outdoor jacuzzi, which is the ideal spot from which to sip a glass of fizz while the sun sets on another day across the Indian Ocean.
All of your meals are included and will be prepared by internationally qualified chefs. We’ll dine on varied cuisine at buffet-style meals, complete with live cooking stations served in the spacious al fresco restaurant at the rear of the main deck. Vegetarians and vegans will be easily accommodated. For those looking to indulge further, wine and cocktails are available each meal for purchase (and between meals at the bar – let’s toast to you!)
The Diving + Snorkeling
The Maldives boast world-class dive sites with rich biodiversity, and in the south in particular, stunning untouched coral and bucket list underwater wildlife sightings.
Because diving on the Deep South Route is an active adventure with currents and drifts, we require all scuba divers to have a minimum of fifty logged dives to ensure you get the most out of the experience. We’ll also have onboard the top guides in the Maldives, with private guides available (see F.A.Q’s for more details), and your resident ocean hype gals to ensure you that you got this! Dive log not quite there yet? No problem — you can still hop aboard for all of the snorkeling, spa time, and island-hopping magic your heart desires. There’s more than one way to enjoy this dreamy getaway!
Prepare for temperatures around the mid 80s (30°C), and the water will be balmy and inviting, ranging from low to mid 80s F (28-29°C)
Diving takes place off a luxury dive dhoni which carries our equipment, air compressor and nitrox. This dive dhoni is kitted out with everything you need for a seamless and comfortable dive day and has been awarded PADI 5 Star Dive Resort status! We’ll be diving with experienced, multilingual dive masters, instructors and boat crew throughout the week.
A liveaboard lets us dive deeper — literally — giving us access to a wide range of reefs and hidden dive sites scattered across the Maldives. While the final itinerary will flow with the weather, our custom route through the Deep South is designed to start with less technical dives, and work our way up to the most thrilling of all! The first dive of the trip will be a ‘check-out’ dive to ensure everyone’s gear is comfortable and working correctly, along with selecting dive groups based on experience levels. From there, our dive dhoni will take us far from the beaten path, where untouched reefs and remote islands await!
Snorkelers will be catered to with their own support zodiac, a personal snorkeling guide for the week, and customized snorkeling sites generally twice per day. Our captain will be standing by for radio updates of any nearby wildlife spottings and will zip you there in a mermaids heartbeat (who said divers get to have all the fun?!). Our underwater photographer will also hop between groups making sure she snaps you, too! And bonus: all snorkel gear is included.
The Environment + Our Impact
Given that the Maldives is one of the world’s most vulnerable ecosystems, our vessel and their operators have sustainability as a top priority. All waste is treated with a state-of-the-art sewage treatment plant, and the boat has reduced plastic use by installing mineralized water plants, eliminating single-use plastic water bottles, and replacing plastic straws with reusable glass and aluminum ones.
We partner with several organizations for this retreat! The ScubaSpa team cooperates closely with the Maldives Whale Shark Research Program to promote its community-focused conservation initiatives, and we partner with locally run and operated Save The Beach as our donation recipient. We have visited their operations on Villimale to to see first-hand their community initiatives and are blow away by their amazing impact.
Additionally, we’ll be making our own positive impact both onboard and below the surface. Our retreat includes leading PADI AWARE specialty programs, designed to empower you with conservation knowledge and skills. This includes the PADI’s signature conservation-focused specialty course, Dive Against Debris, where we’ll lead in an underwater cleanup dive. We’ll also offer a dedicated Shark Conservation course, providing insights into the importance of these magnificent creatures and how we can protect them.
Getting There and Away
This year’s Maldives retreat is situated in the deep south of the country. We’ll climb aboard our floating retreat in Gan (GAN) and say our goodbyes in Kooddoo (GKK). To make your journey seamless though, we’ve included your return domestic flights to and from Malé (MLE) for these meeting points, along with all necessary airport transfers.
So how does it work? Simply book your international flight into Malé’s Velana International Airport (MLE) on (or before) February 21st. From there, we’ll take care of your domestic flight to Gan. Your return flight from Kooddoo back to Malé is also included, scheduled for February 28th if you’re joining the main retreat, or March 1st if you’re extending your dream vacation with our Overwater Bungalow Extension.
If you’re joining us directly from our Sri Lanka retreat — we’ve also got you covered! There are direct flights available from Colombo (CMB) to Gan on February 21st, saving you an unnecessary stopover in Malé. We’ll include this flight for you in place of the flight from Malé, and Alex will of course be with you to guide the way. On departure your return flight to Malé will be included as above.

F.A.Q.
So does non-refundable really mean non-refundable?
Yes, all payments are non-refundable and all remaining invoices are due 120 days before departure. If the trip must be postponed or canceled due to events beyond our control, you will be offered the choice between a full refund and applying your payments to a future trip.
The reason payments are non-refundable is that we start incurring costs from the moment someone presses “book” — from credit card fees to high hourly wages for our team who correspond with guests, manage trip inventory and our e-commerce platform, analyze forms to create room assignments, coordinate with our local vendors, and beyond.
There’s nothing we want more than for our guests to take and enjoy the travel they have worked hard and paid for. Thank you so much for your understanding and respect of our need to enforce this policy strictly. We want to be here to travel with you for years to come!
Will I need travel and dive insurance?
Yes, it is mandatory for all Wander Women Retreat guests to have personal travel insurance for the duration of the trip. Our affiliate, World Nomads offers coverage at affordable rates. Those of you choosing the Scuba Package or Scuba + Spa Package must also have scuba diving insurance, either through a travel insurance provider such as World Nomads, or an industry specific membership insurance such as Divers Alert Network (DAN). We recommend you book your travel insurance as soon as you make your trip deposit to protect your investment.
What dive experience do I need?
Planning to dive? You’ll need your Advanced Open Water cert and at least fifty logged dives. Private dive guides are also available for a more personalised experience starting from $1,200 for one person, or $1,500 for two people. Not quite there yet? No worries — enjoy snorkeling and relaxing spa sessions instead!
What about Nitrox?
Nitrox will be available onboard and can be purchased either per-dive, or for the week.
Not yet Nitrox certified, but would like to be? You’re in luck! Our shark whispering Shutter Queen, Rayna, is also an accomplished PADI Instructor and will be offering an online PADI Enriched Air (Nitrox) Diver course prior to departure, so you’ll be ready to breath easy on arrival. Get in touch for prices and more information.
What will this trip be like for non-divers?
We chose this boat specifically for its incredible amenities that appeal to both divers and non-divers! Each guest will choose between three packages, with one being geared towards non-divers. The spa package includes eight spa treatments as well as guided snorkeling trips. The spa menu consists of more than 20 treatment options including Balinese, Thai, Filipino ‘Hilot’, Ayurvedic, Hawaiian Lomi-Lomi, Warm Bamboo, Lava Shell and Hot Stone therapies. Additionally, we have some activities planned for everyone, diver and non-diver alike, including beach and sandbar visits as well as other water sports. And of course, you’ll have full range of the yacht’s amenities, where you can take in all the views of the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean! We couldn’t have dreamed up a more relaxing trip if we tried.
Is there a price difference for non-divers or divers?
No. Non-divers will choose the spa package, where they’ll be spoiled with eight spa treatments, guided snorkeling, and all the other non-dive activities listed. Our diehard mermaids can choose the scuba package, where they can enjoy every dive offered in the itinerary. And, for those of us who like a little of everything, you can choose the scuba + spa package, with six dives and four spa treatments. Divers can purchase spa treatments separately and spa-goers can add on dives, too! Once you book your room type, we’ll reach out with a welcome email to lock in your choice of package.
How safe is this boat?
The safety of our guests is of utmost importance! This yacht has high safety standards, including regular fire drills, multiple exit points, fire hoses and fire extinguishers, EFR trained staff, a defibrillator, and an emergency evacuation boat. Contact us if you have more questions.
Do I need to be good at yoga?
Absolutely not. (And frankly, we don’t believe in the idea of being “good” at yoga!) We have a range of yogis from brand-new beginners to talented instructors join us on our trips. You’ll get the opportunity to sample a wide range of yoga styles, and you can opt in or out of as many classes as you wish. Some guests attend none at all!
How much money will I need to bring?
There are a range of fabulous cherry-on-top services available on board for that extra vacay vibe. Everything including additional spa treatments, dive courses, dive rental equipment, upgraded WiFi packages, laundry service and an extensive bar and smoothie menu! A full menu of services and pricing will be provided upon booking, however if you are considering booking a dive course, or unsure which package to choose — please reach out to us now for more information! For other onboard services, here’s the general idea.
For alcohol not included in the itinerary, expect to pay around $6-15 per drink, depending on your preference for beer, wine, or cocktails. For non-alcoholic drinks, (like coffee and tea, fresh coconut juice, zero proof cocktails, or sodas) prices range from $5-10 per drink.
While you’ll be fed three delicious meals per day by internationally qualified chefs, everyone has a snack hankering here and there! Snacks available outside of mealtime — including delicious fresh fruit smoothies ($10).
Laundry service starts from $10 per kg, and top-up WiFi packages start from $10 per 1G.
For tips to the local boat crew, we recommend between 5-15% of your room rate, or whatever you feel comfortable with.
Please note, all prices are subject to a 10% service charge and 17% GST tax. The boat accepts cash payments in USD as well as Visa and MasterCard credit cards (however card payments will incur a 4% surcharge).
What’s the wifi situation like?
We all love some time to unplug, but we understand checking in with family or work is important, too. Each cabin will have 5GB of data included in their package, and additional data can be purchased once onboard. All prices are subject to a 10% service charge and 17% GST tax.
While it might not be exactly as speedy as home, 4G speed data (up to 15MB/S) isn’t bad for floating in the Indian Ocean. The yacht is covered with hot spots, meaning you can log in on up to four appliances at once. The range depends on proximity of broadcasting transmitters located on local islands. Good reception is available most of the time.
Is this trip women only?
This one’s for the girls! (Okay, all our trips are but…) While we considered making this a mixed-gendered liveaboard, we polled our customers who told us they love taking time to dive with just women in this male-dominated industry. We are so proud of the supportive, empowering vibe of our dive retreats and know that you’ll love them, too!
I have a unique rooming request, how can you help me?
Email us! If you want to share a bed in a double room, want a triple with two of your besties, want to be on the waitlist for a sold out room type, whatever — we’ll do our best to make it happen via retreats@alexinwanderland.com.
Is there an age requirement?
You must be 18 years old or older.
Is there a waiting list?
There will be a waiting list on a first-come, first-served basis in case spaces open up. If the retreat is full and you’re still interested, email us at retreats@alexinwanderland.com to be added to the waiting list.
I still have questions, or cute photos of my dog. Can I contact you?
Um, yes please! Our email is retreats@alexinwanderland.com.
