Wander Women Maldives:
A Dive + Spa Liveaboard
Maldives
March 4-11, 2028
Treat yourself to the ultimate Maldives escape — no plus-one required! Step aboard our privately chartered floating eco-yacht for seven nights of world-class diving, dreamy snorkeling, daily spa indulgence, oceanfront yoga, deserted sandbars, and the kind of pinch-me moment memories that last a lifetime.
We’re returning to ScubaSpa for another unforgettable Wander Women liveaboard adventure — and this year, we’re going back to the route that first made us fall head over fins for the Maldives. In 2022, we explored the iconic Central Route (read about it here, here and here!). For 2028, we’re bringing it back with fresh programming, polished Wander Women touches, and all the magic that makes this our most luxurious retreat series.
The Central Route is classic Maldives for a reason. It’s a dreamy balance of bucket-list underwater encounters and blissed-out barefoot beauty — with easy logistics from Malé, a gorgeous variety of dive sites, and plenty for non-divers to love, too. Whether it’s your first time in the Maldives or your long-awaited return, this itinerary delivers exactly what so many of us picture when we dream of these islands: bright coral reefs, impossibly blue lagoons, sunset cocktails on deck, and a floating luxury resort that moves with us from one postcard view to the next.
And unlike some of our previous liveaboards and dive-focused adventures, this trip is truly open to all — you do not need to be a scuba diver to join. We believe the Maldives is somewhere everyone should experience at least once in their life… or twice, or three times, if you ask our past guests ;-). Whether your mermaid mode is scuba enthusiast, snorkel seaster, or spa seeker, this experience wraps the best of the Maldives into one soul-filling week. Your days might begin with yoga, unfold underwater, drift into a spa treatment, and end with a beach BBQ, a sandbar happy hour, or a movie night beneath the stars.

And because no Wander Women Maldives adventure would be complete without documenting the magic. We’ll have our resident underwater photographer, Rayna O’Nan of Ocean Rays Photography, onboard capturing the week above and below the surface. Need a new profile pic diving with turtles, glowing on a deserted sandbank, or laughing with your new besties after the spa? We got you. Alongside our signature Wander Women photography workshops onboard, Rayna will also be there for the quiet candid moments, the underwater magic no GoPro could ever quite capture, and the professionally edited, print-quality images you’ll treasure long after your camera roll fills up.
This retreat is made for ocean lovers of all kinds. Come solo and leave with a boat full of besties, or bring your favorite water-baby travel partner along for the dreamiest girls’ trip imaginable. Together, we’ll dive deep, slow down, soak it all up, and fall in love with the Maldives — one salty, sparkly day at a time.

The Itinerary
The below itinerary is a sample planned route — but as we want our trip to be unforgettable, we’ll constantly be in search of unique experiences. The exact itinerary is subject to changes due to season, weather conditions and circumstances. And of course, expect a few Wander Women surprises thrown in!
Day 1: Welcome to the Maldives, where your only job is to exhale. We’ll meet you at Malé’s Velana International Airport and whisk you straight to our floating home for the week. Drop your bags, kick off your shoes, and settle into island time with a restorative yoga class designed to melt away those travel kinks. Later, we’ll gather for a welcome drink, safety briefing, and our first al fresco dinner onboard as the city lights fade behind us. The yacht will begin cruising toward our first anchor point, and just like that — your Maldives mermaid era begins.
Day 2: Rise and shine for sunrise vinyasa on deck, followed by fresh tropical fruit, breakfast, and our first full day exploring the Central Route. We’ll ease into the week with a check-out dive or snorkel around Rasdhoo Atoll, where the reefs are vibrant, the water is clear, and the first turtle sighting may be closer than you think. If you’re headed straight to the spa, why not try a sports massage — ideal for easing tired travel muscles and getting your body ready for a week of ocean play. Between water sessions, settle into your favorite rhythm onboard. Today’s suggestion: claim a shaded lounger, order a tropical drink complete with adorable umbrella, and let yourself read for as long as you like without once checking the clock. We’ll re-group in the afternoon for a signature ocean-themed crafternoon! In the evening, we’ll cheers to day two with happy hour at a sandbar or on deck, depending on the tide, or our vibe.
Day 3: Divers can get an early start with a sunrise dive in search of something big and beautiful in the blue — Rasdhoo is known for the occasional hammerhead surprise, and we’ll have our fingers crossed. Snorkelers will spend the morning exploring the reef from above, where clear water, colorful coral, and a curious turtle or two make for a pretty spectacular first full day in the Indian Ocean. During our surface interval, we’ll gather for an underwater posing workshop for those who want to feel more confident and graceful in front of the camera. More interested in being behind the lens? This is also the perfect chance to sharpen your underwater photography eye before putting those tips into practice on the next dive or snorkel. For a post-ocean reset, try a Champissage Massage, an Ayurvedic scalp treatment designed to relieve fatigue, enhance mental clarity, and help you fully drop into island time. Then take a slow pause on the spa deck with tea, sea breeze, and absolutely nowhere else to be. Tonight, divers may have the option to experience a night dive at Maaya Thila, one of the Maldives’ most famous dive sites, renowned for its rich biodiversity and after-dark drama.
Day 4: Another day, another spectacular reef. This morning, divers will aim for Fish Head, a legendary dive site known for schooling fish, reef sharks, tuna, trevallies, snappers, and barracuda drawn in by the current. Snorkelers will head out with their guide to explore; learning to spot movement, color, and those blink-and-you’ll-miss-them details that make the Maldives feel like a living aquarium. For those onboard, why not try a Warm Bamboo treatment — grounding, deeply relaxing, and exactly the kind of indulgence that makes you wonder why all boats don’t have spas. Later, we’ll roll out our mats for yoga in the dreamiest setting we can find — perhaps on deck, perhaps on a deserted beach, perhaps somewhere that makes everyone say, “how is this real?” This afternoon is a beautiful moment to play. Grab a kayak, try your balance on a stand up paddleboard, or, for the thrill seekers, take a spin on the tube and see just how gracefully you can wipe out in paradise. Dinner this evening is one for the books: a toes-in-the-sand beach BBQ on a stretch of sand all to ourselves. This is no stuffy, romantic affair though — we’ll salsa under the stars and sing till we spill back onboard for a hair-down night of karaoke!

Day 5: Kick off day five with a morning dive at Rangali Madivaru, also known as Manta Point, where divers will be hoping for graceful manta magic at one of the region’s classic cleaning stations. Snorkelers will keep watch from the surface, where manta sightings are every bit as breathtaking. Back on board we’ll head to the mat for a special manta inspired flow. The rest of the day is dedicated to one of the Maldives’ most iconic quests: searching for the elusive whale shark. If Plan A decides to swim elsewhere (wildlife writes its own schedule!), Plan B is still very much paradise — snorkeling around Maamigili Island, soaking up the view, and surrendering to the slower side of liveaboard life. For your spa moment, consider a Glowing Facial — perfect after a few days of sun, salt, and sea breeze. This is also your official permission slip for a guilt-free long nap. Count deserted sandbars as they drift by like sheep, and let the gentle sound of waves against the boat lull you into the kind of nap only the Indian Ocean can deliver. Tonight, we’ll cozy up on the spa deck or top deck for a movie night under the stars.
Day 6: Today we’ll explore the Kudhima Wreck, a photographer favorite and a treasure trove for macro lovers. Whether you’re floating at the surface or diving deep below, keep your eyes peeled for frogfish, stonefish, nudibranchs, seahorses, rays, reef fish, and all the tiny weird-and-wonderful creatures that make ocean lovers squeal into their snorkels or regulators. Above water, we’ll stretch it out with yoga on the shaded deck. Headed to the spa looking for luxury today? The Hot Stone Massage is a dreamy choice for deep relaxation after days of salty adventures. Craving some me time? Our luxury liveaboard has plenty of quiet spaces to focus inward — journal, sketch, edit photos, outline your next big idea, or finally give that book proposal some love — actual books have been written on previous trips (we’re not saying the Maldives was responsible, but we’re not not saying it either!). In the afternoon, we’ll come together for a Wander Women tradition with an ocean-minded conservation activity, from a beach clean-up to a cleanup dive, depending on conditions. We’ll close out the day with the possibility of a night dive or snorkel at Alimatha House Reef, where nurse sharks, rays, and other after-dark ocean characters often steal the show.
Day 7: This morning, enjoy your final dives or snorkels along the Central Route as we soak up every last drop of the Maldives underwater magic. Divers may head for channel dives with the hope of pelagic sightings, while snorkelers can savor one last guided float above the reef before we begin easing back toward Malé. For your final spa moment, we recommend going full send with an Abhyanga Ayurvedic Massage — a beautiful way to close the week feeling balanced, restored, and maybe just a little bit transformed. Afterward, there is only one place to be: the rooftop jacuzzi, preferably with a cold drink in hand and your new boat besties. In the afternoon, we’ll ease into our final golden hour onboard with sunset cocktails on the bow before slipping into full Wander Women farewell mode. Tonight is our themed farewell party, complete with a costume parade to dinner, plenty of photos, and one final al fresco feast under the stars — equal parts celebration, closing circle, and “please don’t make me leave.”
Day 8: We’re not crying, you’re crying! Today we say goodbye to our beautiful floating home. After a final breakfast, hugs, and photo swaps with your new Wander Women besties, we’ll transfer you back to Malé for onward flights — or, if you’re joining the post-retreat extension, onward to one more dreamy chapter in paradise.

Where We’ll Stay and Where We’ll Eat
This isn’t your average liveaboard dive vessel! We’ll be seeing the best of the Maldives from a luxury yacht, awarded as a PADI 5 Star Dive Resort, complete with spacious cabin suites, the world’s largest onboard spa, a top deck jacuzzi, and much more. Rooms are spread along two decks and feature panoramic windows or port lights, and all rooms have air conditioning and en suite bathrooms with hot showers. Single and Shared suites are available — read more about room types here!
When you’re not relaxing in your roomy cabin, you’ll be luxuriating and enjoying the yacht’s ample amenities. The nearly thousand square foot spa is the largest of its kind. The spa spans two decks, six treatment rooms, a secluded deck for open-air massage or meditation and a spa lounge for relaxation. And of course, in typical Wander Women style, we’ll get our yoga on! Some days we’ll flow on the shaded deck, while some days we’ll hit a private beach for our asanas. The rest of the day, bathe in the tropical climate on the spacious sun-deck to melt away all your stress. And it wouldn’t be complete without an outdoor jacuzzi, which is the ideal spot from which to sip a glass of fizz while the sun sets on another day across the Indian Ocean.
All of your meals are included and will be prepared by internationally qualified chefs. We’ll dine on varied cuisine at buffet-style meals, complete with live cooking stations served in the spacious al fresco restaurant at the rear of the main deck. Vegetarians and vegans will be easily accommodated. For those looking to indulge further, wine and cocktails are available each meal for purchase (and between meals at the bar – let’s toast to you!)

The Diving + Snorkeling
The Maldives boast world-class dive sites with rich biodiversity, incredible visibility, and the kind of underwater encounters divers dream about for years. The Central Route is one of the country’s most beloved liveaboard itineraries, offering a beautiful variety of reefs, channels, wrecks, overhangs, night dives, manta cleaning stations, and potential encounters with whale sharks, turtles, rays, reef sharks, and maybe even a hammerhead or two.
Prepare for temperatures around the mid 80s Fahrenheit / 30°C, with balmy water temperatures in the high 70s to low 80s Fahrenheit / 26–29°C.
Diving takes place off a luxury dive dhoni which carries our equipment, air compressor, and nitrox. This dive dhoni is kitted out with everything you need for a seamless and comfortable dive day and has been awarded PADI 5 Star Dive Resort status. We’ll be diving with experienced, multilingual dive masters, instructors, and boat crew throughout the week.
A liveaboard lets us dive deeper — literally — giving us access to a wide range of reefs and hidden dive sites scattered across the Maldives. Diving takes place off a luxury dive dhoni which carries our equipment, air compressor and nitrox. This dive dhoni is kitted out with everything you need for a seamless and comfortable dive day and has been awarded PADI 5 Star Dive Resort status! We’ll be diving with experienced, multilingual dive masters, instructors and boat crew throughout the week. Your first dive or snorkel of the trip will be a check-out session to ensure everyone’s gear is comfortable and working correctly.
The Central Route is the most accommodating Maldives route for divers and snorkelers of all levels. Open Water divers are welcome, and there is no minimum number of logged dives required to join. Dive groups will be selected based on experience levels (but let us know in advance if you BYO dive buddy!). PADI courses are also available onboard for those looking to up their skill level in the world’s most beautiful classroom. If you’re unsure whether your experience level is a fit, reach out to us before booking — we’re happy to help you choose the best package or training plan.
Snorkelers will be catered to with their own support zodiac, a personal snorkeling guide for the week, and customized snorkeling sites generally twice per day. Our captain will be standing by for radio updates of any nearby wildlife spottings and will zip you there in a mermaids heartbeat (who said divers get to have all the fun?!). Our underwater photographer will also hop between groups making sure she snaps you, too! And bonus: all snorkel gear is included.

The Environment + Our Impact
Given that the Maldives is one of the world’s most vulnerable ecosystems, our vessel and their operators have sustainability as a top priority. All waste is treated with a state-of-the-art sewage treatment plant, and the boat has reduced plastic use by installing mineralized water plants, eliminating single-use plastic water bottles, and replacing plastic straws with reusable glass and aluminum ones.
We partner with several organizations for this retreat! The ScubaSpa team cooperates closely with the Maldives Whale Shark Research Program to promote its community-focused conservation initiatives, and we partner with locally run and operated Save The Beach as our donation recipient. We have visited their operations on Villimale to to see first-hand their community initiatives and are blow away by their amazing impact.
Additionally, we’ll be making our own positive impact both onboard and below the surface. Our retreat includes conservation-focused programming designed to empower you with ocean knowledge and simple, meaningful ways to protect the places we’re lucky enough to visit.
Getting There and Away
We’ll meet in Malé, where you can fly in and out of Velana International Airport (MLE), the main international airport in the Maldives. Airport transfers to and from the yacht are included.
Because the Central Route begins and ends in the Malé region, this itinerary keeps logistics simple — no additional domestic flights required. Simply book your international flight into Malé on or before March 4, 2028, and plan to fly onward from Malé on March 11, 2028, unless you’re joining one of our retreat extensions.
Please refrain from booking air travel until the guaranteed departure quota has been met. You will be notified when this is a guaranteed departure. Contact us for additional questions about booking your travel.

F.A.Q.
So does non-refundable really mean non-refundable?
Yes, all payments are non-refundable and all remaining invoices are due 120 days before departure. If the trip must be postponed or canceled due to events beyond our control, you will be offered the choice between a full refund and applying your payments to a future trip.
The reason payments are non-refundable is that we start incurring costs from the moment someone presses “book” — from credit card fees to high hourly wages for our team who correspond with guests, manage trip inventory and our e-commerce platform, analyze forms to create room assignments, coordinate with our local vendors, and beyond.
There’s nothing we want more than for our guests to take and enjoy the travel they have worked hard and paid for. Thank you so much for your understanding and respect of our need to enforce this policy strictly. We want to be here to travel with you for years to come!
Will I need travel and dive insurance?
Yes, it is mandatory for all Wander Women Retreat guests to have personal travel insurance for the duration of the trip. Our affiliate, World Nomads offers coverage at affordable rates. Those of you choosing the Scuba Package or Scuba + Spa Package must also have scuba diving insurance, either through a travel insurance provider such as World Nomads, or an industry specific membership insurance such as Divers Alert Network (DAN) or DiveAssure.
It is mandatory to book your travel insurance as soon as you make your trip deposit to protect your investment, and for those who want ultimate flexibility, we suggest a “Cancel For Any Reason” (CFAR) policy. This allows you to make your own decisions about travel regardless of official advisories. More information will be provided upon booking.
What dive experience do I need?
Planning to dive? The Central Route is the most accommodating Maldives route for divers and snorkelers of all levels. Open Water divers are welcome, and there is no minimum number of logged dives required to join.
Dive groups will be arranged by experience and certification level, with everyone diving within their certification limits and comfort level. Some dives along our route may be better suited to more experienced divers, such as deep dives and night dives. Private guides may be available for an additional cost for those who would like extra support or a more personalized dive experience.
PADI courses are also available onboard for those looking to up their skill level in the world’s most beautiful classroom. If you’re unsure whether your experience level is a fit, or you’d like to discuss your individual needs, please get in touch with us via email before booking.
Not scuba certified, not quite ready, or not interested in diving? No worries — our Snorkel and Spa package is designed for non-divers, with guided snorkeling and relaxing spa treatments included.
What about Nitrox?
Nitrox will be available onboard and can be purchased either per-dive, or for the week.
Not yet Nitrox certified, but would like to be? You’re in luck! Rayna is also an accomplished PADI Instructor and will be offering an online PADI Enriched Air (Nitrox) Diver course prior to departure, so you’ll be ready to breath easy on arrival. Upon booking we will reach out with more information and pricing.

What will this trip be like for non-divers?
We chose this boat specifically for its incredible amenities that appeal to both divers and non-divers! Each guest will choose between three packages, with one being geared towards non-divers — Snorkel + Spa. The spa package includes eight spa treatments as well as guided snorkeling trips. The spa menu consists of more than 20 treatment options including Balinese, Filipino ‘Hilot’, Ayurvedic, Japanese Shiatsu and Swedish.
Additionally, we have some activities planned for everyone, diver and non-diver alike, including beach and sandbar visits as well as other water sports. And of course, you’ll have full range of the yacht’s amenities, where you can take in all the views of the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean! We couldn’t have dreamed up a more relaxing trip if we tried.
Is there a price difference for non-divers or divers?
No. Non-divers will choose the spa package, where they’ll be spoiled with eight spa treatments, guided snorkeling, and all the other non-dive activities listed. Our diehard mermaids can choose the scuba package, where they can enjoy every dive offered in the itinerary. And, for those of us who like a little of everything, you can choose the scuba + spa package, with six dives and four spa treatments. Divers can purchase spa treatments separately and spa-goers can add on dives, too! Once you book your room type, we’ll reach out with a welcome email to lock in your choice of package.
How safe is this boat?
The safety of our guests is of utmost importance! This yacht has high safety standards, including regular fire drills, multiple exit points, fire hoses and fire extinguishers, EFR trained staff, a defibrillator, and an emergency evacuation boat. Contact us if you have more questions.
Do I need to be good at yoga?
Absolutely not. (And frankly, we don’t believe in the idea of being “good” at yoga!) We have a range of yogis from brand-new beginners to talented instructors join us on our trips. You’ll get the opportunity to sample a wide range of yoga styles, and you can opt in or out of as many classes as you wish. Some guests attend none at all!

How much money will I need to bring?
There are a range of fabulous cherry-on-top services available on board for that extra vacay vibe. Everything from additional spa treatments, dive courses, dive rental equipment, upgraded WiFi packages, laundry service and an extensive bar and smoothie menu! A full menu of services and pricing will be provided upon booking, however if you are considering booking a dive course, or unsure which package to choose — please reach out to us now for more information! For other onboard services, here’s the general idea.
For alcohol not included in the itinerary, expect to pay around $6-15 per drink, depending on your preference for beer, wine, or cocktails. For non-alcoholic drinks, (like coffee and tea, fresh coconut juice, zero proof cocktails, or sodas) prices range from $5-10 per drink.
While you’ll be fed three delicious meals per day by internationally qualified chefs, everyone has a snack hankering here and there! Snacks available outside of mealtime — including delicious fresh fruit smoothies ($10).
Laundry service starts from $10 per kg, and top-up WiFi packages start from $10 per 1G.
For tips to the local boat crew, we recommend between 5-15% of your room rate, or whatever you feel comfortable with.
Please note, all prices are subject to a 10% service charge and 17% GST tax. The boat accepts cash payments in USD as well as Visa and MasterCard credit cards (however card payments will incur a 4% surcharge, at time of publish).
What’s the wifi situation like?
We all love some time to unplug, but we understand checking in with family or work is important, too. Each cabin will have 5GB of data included in their package, and additional data can be purchased once onboard. All prices are subject to a 10% service charge and 17% GST tax (at time of publish).
While it might not be exactly as speedy as home, 4G speed data (up to 15MB/S) isn’t bad for floating in the Indian Ocean. The yacht is covered with hot spots, meaning you can log in on up to four appliances at once. The range depends on proximity of broadcasting transmitters located on local islands. Good reception is available most of the time.
Is this trip women only?
This one’s for the girls! (Okay, all our trips are but…) While we considered making this a mixed-gendered liveaboard, we polled our customers who told us they love taking time to dive with just women in this male-dominated industry. We are so proud of the supportive, empowering vibe of our dive retreats and know that you’ll love them, too!
I have a unique rooming request, how can you help me?
Email us! If you want to share a bed in a double room, want a triple with two of your besties, want to be on the waitlist for a sold out room type, whatever — we’ll do our best to make it happen via retreats@alexinwanderland.com.
Is there an age requirement?
You must be 18 years old or older.
Is there a waiting list?
There will be a waiting list on a first-come, first-served basis in case spaces open up. If the retreat is full and you’re still interested, email us at retreats@alexinwanderland.com to be added to the waiting list.
I still have questions, or cute photos of my dog. Can I contact you?
Um, yes please! Our email is retreats@alexinwanderland.com.
