Happy New Year, everyone! I rang in the New Year with Mark, my sister, four of my dear friends from home and several new ones as well. We were at the world famous Full Moon Party at Koh Phangan and it was a crazy night; one that I won’t forget anytime soon.

Full Moon Party Koh Phangan 2011

Onto Photo of the Week: It was another blissful week of traveling around Thailand with my family and I was sad to bid them farewell, but I’m looking forward to reliving the trip when I write about it for the blog. This week’s photo features my Dad looking out at Ang Thong Marine Park in the Gulf of Thailand.

I have a (late) 2011 roundup coming up this week, and then it’s back to our regularly scheduled Vietnam coverage. In the meantime, check out this interview I did for the excellent travel blog Always Twirling, and this roundup by Twenty Something Travel that names one of my posts in the Top Posts of the Year!
Again, Happy New Year! Where did you celebrate?

Hi Sophie! Thanks for reading! This is actually becoming one of my go-to shots, the reflections in the shades 🙂 I’m surprised one hasn’t featured yet as Photo of the Week! I’ll have to do a roundup of them all at some point….

I’m happy to hear you approve 🙂 There was quite the controversy over here about who did and did not make Photo of the Week, so count yourself lucky!

Really like the interview. And the picture! I usually don’t like photo of the week posts, but I always like yours because, like you said, they really are photos from your week.

Thanks Lauren! I really appreciate that. I feel the same way… no offense intended to anyone, I just can’t get excited about a random photo posted every day/week.
