Another week, another set of beautiful images from Upstate New York. Last week I visited Corning and Keuka Lake, and this past week I hit up Rochester, Ithaca and Cayuga Lake, and finally returned to my hometown of Albany. I was so inspired by the beauty in my own backyard! I know a lot of you are East Coasters and I’m looking forward to sharing more about these awesome weekend getaway possibilities. I have a feeling I’ll be back to the Finger Lakes soon.
While I’m still buzzing with New York State pride, I actually just arrived in my home-away-from-home in Martha’s Vineyard, where we’re kicking off the opening of the summer season on the island. Hope my US readers are enjoying a beautiful and relaxing Memorial Day wherever you may be — and that the rest of you are just having a great ‘ol Sunday.

The simple things in life — bocce ball and wine at sunset!
Which photo is your favorite?
E! Nice sun shot. What’s the game?
Bocce ball!
D. It looks like a cute little place to sleep 🙂 What was the inside like?
Adorable! Check my Insta for a preview!
B — that gorge is gorge-ous.
You have no idea how many times I cracked that joke myself 🙂
Indeed it is! But I didn’t find a single t-shirt saying so, much to my disappointment.
I’m a sucker for flowers, so have to go with A. And yay for bocce ball – not many people know what that is down here in the Southern US (I’m from Upstate NY and have Italian blood, so I know better) 🙂
It was actually my first time playing it! I loved it — definitely need more lawn games in my life.
I choose E – because it’s not everyday I see bocce.
It was my first time actually playing! Not usually one for anything that involves hand eye coordination, but everything is fun with wine in hand…
B looks absolutely blissful 🙂
Pretty good combo 🙂
Photo D… Glamping in Ithaca. I love the color of tulips and the idea of camping in a new and exciting area of the world just sounds fun.
Glamping and Ithaca just go great together. I can’t imagine having gone and stayed in a hotel!
Lilac festival?! That must’ve smelled amazing!
It sure did 🙂 And looked it!
B…I want to be standing right where those people are standing and then I want to drink that glass of wine.
Sounds like you need to add Ithaca to your bucket list, then! It’s a beauty…
Hi!! I love your blog!! May I know where you got the map section on top of your blog entitled “Places I’ve Been” <3 Thank you and have a safe travel, always.
It’s a plugin called Interactive Maps. Hope that helps!
I am going for E. I love the simple joys of life Alex.
A screen-free game at sunset is certainly one of them, Steve!
Photo B is definitely my fav! Welcome back to NY! It’s funny, I grew up Upstate as well (Syracuse, represent!) but I haven’t spent hardly any time exploring the area surrounding! Some friends recently moved to Ithaca so perhaps I need to pay a visit..
Visiting far flung family and friends is one of my favorite ways to travel! Definitely sounds like it is time for a visit 🙂
Loving B and C! I can’t wait for some more East Coast posts to get me in the mood for my autumn road trip in New England – I am so excited!
Lots and lots of East Coast coming up this summer! We kept commenting on this trip how gorgeous it would be in the fall…
Photo B – anything that mixes wine and nature is a winner in my books!
You’d love the Finger Lakes then 🙂
