This was one of those weeks where selecting a Photo of the Week was super hard, and not because I was having trouble narrowing it down or something. It’s because I HAVEN’T LEFT MY APARTMENT IN A WEEK! But the good news is, I’m not bothered in the slightest. I just had seven weeks of fun and I’m headed into an amazing holiday season of friends and family. So being crazy busy and locking myself in the house to get it all done is a blessing, not a burden. It is the wonderful result of having tons of freelance work and some advertising profit coming in. It took nearly six months, but I’m finally making my dream of freelancing and working abroad come true.
So, yeah. A bit desperate with the photos. On two separate occasions I realized I had been sitting at my “home office” (basically a desk I pushed up to a window) all day again and ran out onto the porch with my camera to try to come up with something.

In other news, Alex in Wanderland is getting around the interwebs!
• I’m very excited to announce that I recently wrote a guest post for my blog mentor and personal friend Andi of My Beautiful Adventures on how to take better underwater photos. Please click through and check it out! Andi’s site is one of the first I check out each morning, and I’m thrilled to be a part of it.
• I was also interviewed by Shane of National RV Parks where I talk about my least favorite destination and how my parents would support me if I was a circus clown. [Update: sadly, this interview is now offline as the domain appears to have been sold.]
Happy weekend!
Thanks for the shout out! Both of these shots are gorgeous!!!
Thanks girl! You should consider doing a photo of the week project…. I love your photos!
I loved the interview with Shane. You did not reveal you have never traveled in an RV however. I liked both photos very much but would pick the bug on the petal as photo of the week.
That’s true… but DON’T PLANT THE IDEA IN MOM’S HEAD AGAIN!
Maybe I’m working you too hard.
Nah. Leaving the apartment is overrated.
Just kidding. You’re not my only client 🙂 I’m also juggling a website design for some people on-island and some freelance editing for Lost Girls. But mostly its the fact that I’m trying to pre-schedule all my posts while the fam is here.
Hey Alex,
Love both photos but have to agree with your dad that the bug on the petal is the best.
You take great photos!
Love ya,
Noreen
Thanks Noreen! Glad you liked them even on a week I was feeling uninspired 🙂
Thanks Alex for the interview. It was fun!
Anytime, thanks for the opportunity!
A:
GREAT post on the how-to’s of underwater photography. Clear, concise writing; straightforward advice well told.
Keep it up!
Steve
PS: I also like the bug-flower photo. But where am I supposed to vote?
I had to stop the voting for now because the polls were messing with my site, sadly. But thanks for the kudos on the guest post! I owe my editor an email…
