What a week! I’ve been a busy bee with Muay Thai boxing training, throwing a Valentine’s Day party, catching up on some blog projects, and keeping up with my “day job,” underwater videography. In fact, I have a bit of a confession for you this week, readers- Photo of the Week is actually going to be Video Still of the Week. I shot so much underwater footage this week and took not even one decent photo. So forgive the lapse in quality, but its better than me running around today trying to find another creative way to photograph palm trees!

Photo A

Koh Tao Moray EelI found this moray eel all by myself which made me very proud, because I’m horrible at spotting anything that doesn’t swim straight past my face.

Photo B

Bannerfish with DiversMy favorite shots are ones where I manage to capture people and sea life together in one frame. It’s something I picked up from my very talented bosses at my videography job here in Koh Tao.

Photo C

Parrotfish Eating CoralThe parrotfish seems to be every new diver’s favorite fish. I can see why- they are colorful and abundant, and always seem to be smiling.

Photo D

Guppy Fish Hiding in HoleI don’t know exactly what kind of creature this is, but I have about two minutes of hilarious footage in which he nervously pops his head in and out of that hole, fretting over the paparazzi outside his door. I’ll have to post it sometime.

Photo E

Butterfly Fish in Cave

I love the dramatic cave setting of this shot, and that you can see the very human-like eye markings on this butterfly fish.

So, which is your favorite photo? Leave your vote in the comments below!

And sorry about the whole video stills cheatage, guys. I’m just keepin’ it real over here in crazy town.

In other news, I’d like to welcome any new readers that found their way over from my big guest post over on Nomadic Matt. It’s the Complete Dive Guide to Koh Tao, and if you haven’t seen it already, your next move should be to scurry on over and give it a look!

Thanks for reading, everyone.
