What a week! My time in New Orleans absolutely flew by — I still can’t believe I was there for a full ten days. I had just barely begun to recover from the Mardi Gras revelry when it was time to begin my California adventures. My girl Lindsay, who you might recognize as a partner-in-crime from The Full Moon Party and other Thailand escapades, scooped me at the airport and we headed straight for an adventure of the more wholesome variety — a weekend at Disneyland.
While I’ve been having an insane amount of fun, my anxiety levels are at an all-time high due to my work backlog and some other business-related stress. Right now I’m looking forward to the workweek ahead, when I plan to barricade myself in Linday’s Venice apartment and do nothing but attack my to-do list. But the laptop party won’t last long, because next weekend I’m heading to Palm Springs to watch my friend Amy say “I do!” Stay tuned for some seriously stylish wedding pics. Until then…

A true Wonderland… or is it Wanderland?
Which photo is your favorite?
Louisiana, Disney and California. Pretty much sums up my favourite places in America! Mardi Gras is insanely fun!
It’s my first time for a lot of them but I share your sentiments already! There’s a lot to explore in my own backyard…
Photo A (though I really can’t speak to you as my ONE REQUEST FROM THIS VISIT was to make it into photo of the week.)
Love you anyways.
Well, did you really want me posting those photos of you from Saturday night…. π
I vote photo B. Nothing says Louisiana like a gator!
Totally agree! We were so excited to see one!
Photo A – I really want to experience Mardi Gras – hope you had a lot of fun!!
I did! Can’t wait to write a whole post about it soon!
A. Mardi Gras is about the crowds, revelry, and people hanging off balconies on Bourbon Street watching the show and being part of the show at the same time. Looking forward to seeing you in staid and boring Philadelphia in April.
You’re really selling it Dad! Better find some way to entertain me! (Just kidding.)
Aw, I love photo E. Despite the fact that I am 32 I still want to go to Disney one day. Looks like so much fun!
There are PLENTY of people there with no kids and at every age! We had a blast as two twenty-somethings on a girl’s getaway π
I have to pick photo D. No one can avoid having fun at Disney!
Agreed — I had a blast!
Photo C!
And your dad seems hilarious.
He’s a gem π
You must be having lots if fun. I like photo E of the tea cups. It looks lovely at night.
I was amazed Disney was open until midnight — it was great to see everything lit up at night!
Photo E looks amazing! Well they all do but I love the colors of E..
Thanks Chris! It really was magical at night…
Photo D. My Idea of a perfect “vacation” … people slam tourists but I totally see myself there in 10 years with a fanny pack full of sunscreen and like 6 kids.
Haha, that image cracks me up! I’m sure I’ll be the same, though most likely they will be my sisters’ kids… not sure if I’m up for my own!
It was a difficult choice this week. In the end I have chosen F. The sunshine is how I would imagine California.
After a very cold and rainy last few days in Louisiana, it is great to be back in the sunshine π
So hard to decide since you have so many amazing ones this week! I’ll go with A since it is such a unique photo.
Thanks Sophie! Seems to be the reader fave this week and funny enough I almost left it out as I wasn’t sure if it was up to snuff. That’s why I love Photo of the Week!
Great pictures as always Alex. I like picture A most this time, such a great angle of so many people on the balcony.
I hope the anxiety eases and you get on top of the workload.
Thanks, I think a week with my laptop is just what the doctor ordered. Who knew that too much fun and relaxing could lead to a near nervous breakdown…
I love photo C!! I like historicky looking places.
Well than you would LOVE New Orleans! Get thyself there ASAP π
I just love New Orleans..it’s always fun! The “gator” is my fave! Did you hold him?
Indeed we did! I made my sister do it too which she wasn’t too enthusiastic about π
Photo E is my fav, you definitely captured the magic of ‘Wanderland’ π
Ha, I really couldn’t seem to say “Wonderland” the whole time we were there! My vocabulary has been altered!
Photo B. ‘Cuz I heart the swamp! And the fact that Louisiana gators are way nicer than Florida gators (no fatalities ever!).
Not only are you in my city right now, you are in my HOOD! If you want to get out of Lindsay’s apartment for a bit, I’d recommend Cow’s End & Venice Grind for getting work done. Or Intelligentsia if you wanna go uber hipster. Oh & 212 Pier off Main is the only coffee shop open super late. Enjoy! I’m sure your friend’s got you covered but if you need more rec’s, just ask.
I didn’t know that about the Louisiana gators… interesting factoid! So appearantly I’ve just learned I’m actually more in Marina del Ray, ha, but I just looked it up and am only a 15 minute walk from Cow’s End! I might try to make my way over there sometime this week once I’m out of deadline crisis mode. Thanks for the tips!
All of these look so vibrant and fun!! I haven’t been to Disneyland in years, it still looks like a magical time. Maybe now that I am in LA I’ll plan an adventure there! I’m going with A (such a cool shot) and D (gotta love the swings! and how creative are those balloons!?)
You DEFINITELY gotta go! Not just for kids! I’m actually pretty excited to post about our grown up getaway to Disney π
Photo D looks really exciting.. π
Thanks Tina! Disney was awesome!
I love everything Disney without question, but my favorite here is A. I love the perspective!
Thanks Jen! In New Orleans, you spend a lot of time looking up!
