Greetings from Greece — again! I can’t tell you how happy I am to be reporting from the same country for two weeks in a row. Not that that’s any indication I’ve slowed down. Life is once again reaching category ten levels of chaos as I try to fit in too much work, too much play, and absolutely zero sleep. But with only two weeks left in Europe, and plenty of catch-up time in Thailand ahead, I’m trying my best to live by the all too appropriate tagline of the tour I’m currently on — #noregrets!
Contiki’s Greek Island Hopping is treating me well. We kicked off our tour in a seaside suburb of Athens before bee-lining for the beaches (and parties!) of Mykonos. Currently we’re en route to Santorini, an island I am thrilled to be returning to for the third time.
This week will be an exciting one around Wanderland — I’ll be kicking off my European trip coverage! I can’t wait to start oversharing. Until then, here’s another preview of what’s ahead…
Photo A
Stealing some sun time in Athens
Photo B
A lively evening in the Plaka of Athens
Photo C
I can’t seem to keep away from octopus lately
Photo D
Sunset on “Little Venice” on Mykonos
Photo F
My favorite new friend from Mykonos!
Which photo is your favorite?
omgsh a week has gone by since your last photo post? time is flying. can’t wait to see your europe posts! I like photo f.
I know! Tell me about it. Time is flying by… I wish it would slow down so I could enjoy Greece in half time!
Photo F, with a very close runner up being photo B!
See, Photo B was one I almost eliminated…. love hearing it’s other people’s favorites!
Love Photo F! I’m looking forward to your Europe posts! I need to make it to Greece at some point!
I’m already planning a return trip π
Photo A- so pretty!
Snapped from the roof of my hotel!
ah I loved Mykonos. So colorful yet bleached white at the same time.
I really loved getting to explore it a bit more. I would still go back again though — it’s so cool!
I am choosing F. I just love your new friend.
He says hi π
I love Photo A, but I’m a sucker for beautiful beaches. π
And the best part — just 20 minutes from the Acropolis!
E! I’m a sucker for bunting. Works especially well against the whitewashed facades.
Seriously chompppiiiing at the bit for your Euro coverage. Hurray!
I actually had to think about what bunting is for a minute, that’s how out of the crafting loop I am. Sigh, how I miss Martha Stewart magazine!
A, B and F are all talking to me. So I consulted Tucker and of course he fell for the Pelican. He did ask me what it meant by your ‘new friend’ and I assured him he was still your true love.
Aw, my baby! I would have LOVED to see Tucker and this guy meet. It would be epic…
Amazing photos as always- you are a great inspiration! Bitting by the travel bug myself but now (sadly) I have to work to pay of those student loans. I have a great passion of photography and is very inspired by your site :)! I am wondering, are you printing your pics or making photobooks? Currently I am editing, and waaaay behind on my travels my trip to Ethiopia in 2008.
Have a great trip in Greece, it is wonderful. IΒ΄m traveling to Skiathos friday! And thanks for your great site!
At the moment no, I never print my photos! I would have nowhere to hang them π Someday I look forward to doing something truly epic with them!
Photo D for sure! I can’t wait to get back to Greece one day.
Me too — and I haven’t even left yet π
Mr Pelican gets the vote for me!
He’s a legend!
Loving the colours in Photo E
I love the little hidden shadow on the right of the windmill π
OMG I can’t to set foot upon these glorious islands one day! They are all beautiful. I loved your dad’s comment!
It gave me a chuckle as well π
A is such a great photo…but I do have a thing for all the octopus photos lately!
Apparently I have a thing for taking them, ha! I don’t know what it is that draws me to them…
Photo F – he’s just too cute!
He’s a Mykonos celebrity π
The Plaka of Athens looks lovely – I like the outdoor eating life!
I do wonder what Jungian meaning the octopus have for you at the moment… π
I’m in love with the pattern, the texture…. the ability to see something up close that I rarely get to see so intimately under water!
So only in death can life be seen intimately…
Just my Jungian thought π
Petros the pelican, of course π He looks like he loves posing for photos π
He’s quite the model! And I was all too happy to oblige π
Octopus are weirdly photogenic aren’t they?? I seem to have quite a few in my photo library from my time in Korea… more than is normal probably! Photo F is my favourite, what a character!
I am relieved to hear I’m not the only one, ha! There’s something about them…
I love Octopus!
I definitely would prefer to see them underwater but… as they are there drying out already, I can’t seem to keep away from them!
Love photo E! Those colors are amazing!
Mykonos is definitely a colorful island, despite its whitewashed reputation!
Love the beach scene from up above π
Nabbed that shot from my hotel roof — thanks Rekha!
All the photos are awesome again, but my faves are probably A & F. Can’t wait to read more about your time in Greece!
It’s going to be so much fun to write about… I’ve had a lot of adventures!
These photos are great! I’m enamored, Greece is sounding and looking lovely! A – D – B in that order π
Love the ranking π Thanks Kristen!
Photo B, because my life is decidedly lacking in nighttime excitement right now and I want to be in the middle of that.
You will be lapping it up soon girl! Don’t miss the Sunday Funday pool parties in San Juan del Sur π
Absolutely love Photo B. I go to Athens a couple times a month for work and you totally captured the essence of an Athenian evening. My favorite is listening to live greek music out on the open air patios. Definitely a fun way to spend a weekday night.
Thank you Shaunna, that’s a great compliment for a photographer to hear! I really enjoy Athens even though it has a bad rap. The outdoor summer cinemas are my fave!
