Happy Monday! Well, last Monday was a pretty happy Monday. I spent the majority of the last week in one of my happy places, a little island called Martha’s Vineyard. A certain Bearded Bartender reappeared, and one of my Brooklyn girls Liz and her boyfriend Matt flew in for the long weekend. What a crew! I adored showing them around and remembering everything I love about this idyllic and peaceful retreat. I definitely wasn’t ready to leave but I was comforted to know I’ll be back in just a month — even if part of me wishes I was just spending the whole darn summer out there.
Currently I’m back in Albany and operating at top crisis management levels. I was meant to be in New York this week but cancelled in order to try to get my life back in order which was a great decision, though I definitely wish I could press pause for about a month. My insane travel schedule has finally caught up to me and I’m practically vibrating with stress over how behind I am on every item on my to-do list. (I’m so sorry to those of you have emailed me recently… or, you know, ever, and have yet to receive a response. I am actually drowning in my inbox and it’s embarrassing.) My body has joined in on the protest too, and I’m currently on my second round of antibiotics for strep throat. So like I said…. last Monday was a happy Monday.

UPDATE: Is anyone in the LA area interested in a meetup sometime between June 19-23rd? Leave me a note in the comments so I can gauge interest!
Ahh I feel the same way about the town where my family beaches. I could just stay there all summer! Hope you get well soon! And I can’t say no to Photo B, I’m a sucker for fishing boats and scenic docks.
Menemsha is one of the cutest… and it’s actually where much of Jaws was filmed!
Photo E is super cute 🙂
Ha, thanks… our future band photo!
Photo C – lucky Tucker! I love dog photos. Always a winner.
He’s my little star 🙂 Thanks Gemma!
Great photos again! And take it easy 🙂 As a freelancer I know that constant feeling of stress and never have a ‘real’ pause. It’s easier said than done, but just focus on your offline life and finish just 1 to-do a day. 😉 In a couple of days hopefully you will feel better!
I’m definitely hoping to feel more in control by Friday! I’m also trying not to let myself get in a laptock lockdown though…. making time to walk my dog, work out, and meet friends for dinner after a productive day so I don’t make myself sick with stress.
E — well done on the pose here!
On a more serious note, I relate all too well to “vibrating with stress” & have the health repercussions to show for it. Try to remember that a lot of this stuff is self-imposed, the mere side effects of the amazing life you’ve chosen and are in control of. If at anytime things get to be too much, you can always hit the brake. Even if it seems impossible!! Good luck Alex x
Thanks Becky, wise words! OH and check my update to this post — meetup planning time!
B speaks to me for some reason….it’s “classic” as you say.
Hope you’re feeling better soon…think of it like college – a couple weeks of crazy busy work to clear up your schedule for summer!
I definitely love sleep too much to pull all-nighters anymore, but I am working hard to get back to speed 🙂
Photo B is beautiful, and photo E is awesome as well! Hope you feel better soon!
Thanks Ashley! I do too…
Definitely photo B … love dock shots!
Me too! Nothing says “New England” better…
Photo C because Tucker is in it!
I like your voting strategy 🙂
Photo E made me laugh so I have to go with that one!! Hope you’re feeling better soon and don’t get too overwhelmed by your to-do list! Take it one day at a time and know it will all work out one way or the other 🙂
Ha, it made us laugh pretty hard too!
Photo E! It doesn’t matter how many amazing scenery shots you take it’s the images of you smiling with friends that get hung up on the wall at home and treasured forever 🙂
Very true! I haven’t printed a photo in a while, but this one might be worthy…
Love seeing #TuckerinWanderland of course! 🙂
Photo E looks like its straight from a magazine. Love the poses! Gotta do more self timer shots.
The nice thing about being somewhere as remote as Chappaquiddick is we had total privacy to goof around with the camera and not worry what anyone might think 🙂 It was fun!
bearded bartender 🙂 must be anxious plus goosebumps seeing him again after how long? oh alex.
Over six months! Was great to be reunited, even for a brief bit.
they say absence makes the heart grow fonder but actually, it’s quite “killing” not having the last say of when paths shall cross again. that’s why every moment spent together counts.
I am choosing C. Love the look of Tucker fishing for his dinner. Also nice to pictures of a place I knew because of a song.
What song is that, Steve?
The song is called Martha’s Vineyard by All About Eve. They were a goth/hippie band from the UK in the 80s.
I’ve never heard of it — off to give it a download. Thanks Steve!
I’m in LA!! I’m always inspired by reading your blog and would love to meet up if times work out!
Awesome! I’ll email you when I get a group together, Karen!
Photos C & E are so fun, but the quaintness of B wins it for me.
I had a feeling that photo might be the winner as I was snapping it 🙂 Thanks for voting!
You know I’m up for meeting Alex! Let me know if you need help coordinating/choosing a spot. FYI — there’s a sleazy disco party with Dimitri from Paris @ a Hollywood club the night of June 19th. Just sayin’….

O RLLY. I’ll have to consult little sis on that one, as she will also be in town by then…
Photo C! Puppy love!
He’s my little man 🙂
Photo C is my favorite – I so wish Tucker could be successful.
Ha, no lobsters for him! He does like chasing crabs at the beach though.
I’ll be in the LA area on the 20th and 21st if you end up organizing a meet-up on those days…otherwise, next time you’re in Alaska 😉
Awesome Kristen! I’ll shoot you an email later this weekend!
Amazing photos, Alex. Especially C, with the curious dog. It’s so cute!
He’s my munchkin! And yes… curious is a great descriptor!
E…although TUCKERRRRRR
I miss my little man already!
