Greetings from Bangkok! Those following along on my Instagram know I just spent the most amazing few days exploring Thailand’s wine region with a group of twelve of my nearest and dearest from Koh Tao. Yup, Thailand has a wine region and yup, I survived planning a trip there for twelve! The Khao Yai countryside is an extremely popular vacation destination for Thais but very rarely visited by Westerners — part of the draw to the area for me was knowing I’d get to write all kinds of juicy (grape pun? anyone?) content to help other travelers get there too. Stay tuned!
This was my favorite trip I’ve taken in a long time — a challenge and adventure to plan, and unbelievably rewarding to execute. I’m blessed with the most amazing group of friends and getting to explore a totally new destination together in a country we call home (at least part time, in my case!) is a memory I’ll treasure. Especially a destination as beautiful and peaceful as this one.
Now we’re all back in Bangkok, spending a few days soaking up the joys of the big city before returning, eventually, to our little island. And in Wanderland this week, I’m looking forward to kicking off coverage of my mini-roadtrip through the American Southwest — I’m so excited! Can’t wait to see you all in the comments.

Which photo is your favorite?
When I first saw pictures of this trip on IG, I thought you were in Europe for a second! π And funny story: I actually had a conversation about whether or not there are wine regions in Thailand with my family the other day – they didn’t think so, so I’m going to have to update them with this post! π Enjoy Bangkok!
Believe me, we were having the same problem when we were there — we couldn’t stop exclaiming that we no longer seemed to be in Thailand! It really felt like we’d transported to a different continent.
They are all great, but I love the first picture!
Aren’t they the cutest couple? Having model looking friends really comes in handy π
Photo A – working those baskets!
We had such a blast being unleashed on those grapes! Most vineyards won’t let you anywhere near them…
D!! I’m a sucker for that light!
The crazy part is I took that photo on the right from a moving vehicle — very lucky it turned out!
Photo C – they seemed quite delighted to snag some grapes.
Or maybe they’ve just had a bit of wine π
Photo A! They look like they belong there.
I think they were both pretty much ready to move into that vineyard, so you’re not far off!
Photo A looks lovely and the bottles in Photo B look so sexy π
Agreed! There is something sensual about them all label-free and naked like that π
Wonderful photos. I agree with one person here this looks like from somewhere in Europe! You seem to be having a great time there. I have been to Thailand and loved the place. I will be following your blog to see how Thailand turns out for you.
Thailand is like a second home to me <3 Plenty more posts about it to come!
photo e…. Yum!
It was delicious — we had all kinds of grape goodies that weekend!
Photo E, looks like a really nice bit not too rich sweet to have!
It was amazing. I can almost taste it again. Uh oh, now I’m hungry…
This looks like SUCH a fun little outing!! I always love traipsing around vineyards, and how cool that you got to actually pick grapes! Pretty sad I missed this, I have to admit…
You would have loved it, girl! I’ll definitely go back with you if you’re up for it someday π
It’s on my “bucket” list to visit every wine region in the world so I can’t wait for these posts. In my experience, the lesser known wine countries tend to bring it the hardest. Loving Photo D!
Now that’s an amazing bucket list goal if I’ve ever heard one! I love quirky little wineries and wine regions too. My favorite so far has been Santorini… and now this!
Civilised behaviour level unlocked.
You would have loved it, dear friend.
Photo A! What a lovely couple shot!
I know — I immediately wanted one for myself. Unfortunately me and my man aren’t quite as photogenic π
I’m voting for photo A as well!!
The winner of the week, for sure π
Photo A! It looks like a picture out of an advertising campaign.
Having tall, good looking friends is not a bad thing for a blogger π
I was going to say photo A… Then I saw photo E. Sorry. Nothing wins dessert for me.
Photo E it is!
Ha! Especially a grape tarte at a Thai winery. You really can’t beat that.
E – delicious!
I would take another one right now!
A!!
We missed you <3
Super cute clicks…Great Post…
xoxo, Neha
Thanks Neha! Much appreciated π
Photo A is so cute! I can’t wait to read more about wine tours in Thailand. Who would have thought?
I know, right?! I wish I could remember when I first heard of these Thai wineries… but I’ve definitely been obsessed with visiting ever since.
photo A. your friend’s dress is lovely and so is her name.
She is indeed π Always jealous of those little dots over the A!
So fun! I would never have thought of Thailand being a country for wine, but then again, why not?! I love photo A. They look like they’re having so much fun!
There are in fact six wineries in this big ‘ol country! Indeed… who would have guessed!?
Didn’t know you could grow wine grapes well in tropical conditions … you learn something everyday I guess!
Google “New Latitude Wines…” they are doing some cool stuff!
I had no idea Thailand had wine country! I hope to visit in the future and would love to check out that part of the country. I went once when I was quite young and don’t remember much besides warm water, low tides, and seeing monkeys.
That’s a fair amount of it π Just kidding — Thailand is surprisingly diverse and after years of traveling here, I still haven’t run out of things to do!
