Picking Photo of the Week was no easy task today… considering that this week I PHOTOGRAPHED A NUDIBRACH LAYING EGGS! Probably one of the coolest things I have seen underwater. And yet, you will have to wait to see those shots. Because something even more significant happened this week in Thailand…

Songkran! Also known as the Thai New Year, also known as the world’s biggest water fight.

Songkran, Thailand

I felt that it was a momentous enough occasion to muscle out egg-laying-nudibranch as Photo of the Week!

Happy Monday…

Thanks John! I didn’t get that many great photos of the day, sadly (perhaps alcohol was involved….) so I’m glad at least this one looks good!

Actually…. Songkran is meant to fall on the hottest day of the year. Not very cool at all 🙂

Well, I certainly can’t say I wish I’d been there. No one around here throws water around. We can only water the lawn once a week.

Living on an island there are definite water shortages here as well but they are all ignored in the name of celebrations on Songkran! It was pretty hard to get decent water pressure for a good shower afterwards, though!

That was a great photo for this summer… We can enjoy ourselves simply by doing this!
