I can’t believe my nearly two weeks in Oahu are over! But there’s no time to mope — I’m headed to the Big Island now. What a trip this has been. As with last week, I had a hard time narrowing things down — I need your votes!

Photo A

Oahu Street ArtI love the bright and colorful street art all over Oahu — there is such a vibrant arts community here.

Photo B
Fumi's Shrimp Truck, OahuOn the famous North Shore, shrimp trucks are the local delicacy!

Photo C
Oahu, HawaiiI think I’ve seen a rainbow almost every day in Oahu — but this one was my favorite.

Photo D
Waikiki Sunset CruiseOn a sunset booze cruise off Waikiki, we saw the moon rise over Diamond Head, watched dolphins frolic in the surf and saw outrigger practice beneath the sunset.

Photo EKualoa Ranch, OahuAnother first time experience for me — ATV riding!

Photo FHonolulu HotelI’ve never been to a city quite like Honolulu — skyscrapers and palm trees side by side.

In other news, I’ve started a freelancing gig for Eagle Creek, the adventure outfitters company. My first post for them is now live, so check it out here: Flying High: The Best Zip Lines in the World.

Ha, thanks Cat! I started writing pieces for them SO long ago it kind of feels like old news, even though the first post is only going live now. But it is exciting!

The ATV’s were definitely an adventure! Sadly they wouldn’t let us go more than 15mph… so I’ll have to try it again someday to really get my fun out of it!

Gotta go with E… reminds me of LOST and seeing as I still have dreams involving in on a weekly basis, yeah it’s fair to say I’m a bit biased lol

Indeed, many scenes of LOST were filmed at Kualoa Ranch! Most famously Hurley’s golf course scene 🙂 I’m thinking of rewatching the whole series after this trip.

I love them all, especially A and B, but for some reason, that last shot of Honolulu is just so representative of the place (even though I’ve never been) that I have to go with F. Congrats on your new gig, look forward to checking out your post!!

Alex! I am trying in vain to send you a message through your contact form, but the captcha monster keeps telling me 11+14 doesn’t equal 25. Gah. All I wanted to say was I’m so sorry for not seeing or responding to your lovely tweet to me from months ago. I am a complete Twitter spaz and only just now getting comfortable with it. My shiny new Hoot Suite app alerted me to the long-since sent/ignored message.

Anyway, so so sorry, and thank you. Seriously so kind of you. 🙁

Well I’m glad my Captcha code is operating at my own personal level of math skills. I am also a Twitter spaz and while I remember sending you a message or a tweet or something I can’t for the life of me recall what it said. I’m sure I should be embarassed though because I’m guessing it was something along the lines of OMG I LOVE YER BLOG! I’ve actually read you since your Weddingbee days, when I was an intern at a wedding company and writing their blogs. It’s actually crazy sometimes when I think how long I’ve been reading my favorite blogs. If we met at a party I’d be that creepy person telling you stories about your own dog.

But anyway, you’re so sweet to follow up! And I really need Hoot Suite.
