Merry Christmas, readers! I’ve had a lovely holiday here in Albany spending time with family and friends. Now that the wrapping paper is on the floor neatly folded for reuse next year and the last of the peppermint ice cream has been demolished polished, it’s time to share a few Photos of the Week.

One of my favorite things about Christmas is the grown-up dinner party I’ve been throwing for my friends since senior year of high school. It’s the one time of the year I actually enjoy cooking.

Lights in the Park is a Capital Region Christmas tradition. This year, we waited in line for over an hour to see…. lights in a park! But the laughs in the car were worth it.

I can’t believe that this was the first year that I ever went ice skating at Empire State Plaza! Watching the sunset from the ice in the middle of this iconic Albany landmark was the start of a perfect new holiday tradition.

I love this photo that juxtaposes a Christmas poinsettia with a Buddha sculpture. Why? Because as you read this, I’m on my way back to Southeast Asia!
