Photo of the Week 148
“What brings you to Vegas?” It was a question we were asked over and over again during our four days in the desert’s sparkliest town. Our answer was simple: Just a getaway with the girls. Kristin is not only my oldest friend after a dozen years of BFF-dom but was also my partner in crime for my first trip to Vegas back around the time we turned 21. We’ve been itching to return ever since and — bonus! — one of our girlfriends from high school recently moved out there, making it the perfect reunion destination.
This was my third trip to Sin City and it was the perfect mix of old favorites (dinner at STK, dancing at Tryst) and new adventures (seeing a Cirque show, hitting the pool parties). As usual, I can’t wait to share more. But in the meantime, here’s some of my favorite snaps from the strip…
Las Vegas Boulevard in the light of day.
Living it up at Liquid lounge in the Aria.
Beach balls and flower balls.
Another fabulous dinner at STK, my favorite restaurant in Vegas!
The view of the strip from Mix lounge.
Which photo is your favorite?
Photo B all the way…
A shocking choice 😉
Somebody had to 🙂
I love the last shot! What a view. I definitely need to get myself back to Vegas one of these days.
Um, I just got back and I’m already plotting my return 🙂 I’m obsessed!
Great photos! While Las Vegas isn’t at the top of my list of places I’d love to visit, I’d still like to get there one day! My favourite is photo E, captures the atmosphere of Vegas!
You’ve gotta do it once! If nothing else, it’s incredibly unique.
As a 13-year Las Vegas resident, I have to vote for Photo E; that view never gets old! Glad you enjoyed Las Vegas. 🙂
I LOVE Las Vegas. You found yourself a great place to live 🙂
Photo A for me this time Alex. It is like a painting, so incredibly full of pastel colours.
That’s the same comment my mom made when I showed her the picture! Glad you like it 🙂
Photo E all the way… can’t beat a pic of Vegas at night!
Nope, it’s definitely a city that is most beautiful after dark.
I like E…captures the over the top spirit of the place.
I still think you need to give it another try someday 🙂
Great pics! My favourite is A for the colors, the sky and the way it looks frozen in time.
Thanks Sophie! It was so nice to see a bright blue sky.
I got back from Vegas and US West Coast a few months ago, you made me totally melanchonic 🙂
Photo D is stunning!!! Must try that view next time I’m visiting 🙂
Yes, STK is the best! More photos to come when my full posts go live 🙂
I am choosing E. Stunning view. Vegas looks a great place to let your hair down.
There’s nowhere else on earth like it!
Photo A’s my favourite.
When I imagine Vegas I think of the typical night scene – a vibrant city with bright lights everywhere & a crowd of people bustling about having fun. It’s quite unusual to see it from a different perspective – Sin City, in the cold light of day…
Your picture makes it appear to be a calm tranquil place, which I’m sure it’s anything but!
Yeah, Vegas is pretty wild any hour of the day — definitely an optical illusion 🙂
Photo E for me! I love shots of Vegas a night.
It is the classic view 🙂 Glad you’ve enjoyed!
I haven’t been to STK, but it is my favorite shot this time! I’ll have to go next time I’m in Vegas!
Thanks Corinne! It was actually taken on the escalator on the way down to the lower level of the Cosmo 🙂 Action shot!
Amazing pictures! They are all so vibrant, it made me smile to look at them. I like photo E the most – I’ve stayed in the Luxor a couple of times and it just never disappoints. One day, I will live in a pyramid…
Hope you had a wonderful time! xx
I’ve actually never been in there! Maybe need to drop in on a future Vegas trip x
A & E. Completely enamored with any shot of the Vegas strip. It makes me so nostalgic of my two fabulous & crazy, wonderful & chaotic trips there. I can not WAIT to go back!
Tell me about it! I am always on the prowl for an excuse to fly to Sin City…
Oh I love E, although A looks like a painting!
So many people have said that now… I should put it on a canvas and hang it on the wall and claim I painted it 😛
I would say A because the colours come across wonderfully.
But I’ll have to go with B. Being in the pool with a drink in hand is how I’d like to spend some Vegas time.
Isn’t it funny to fly to the desert to lounge by the pool? 🙂 Love it!
