Surprise! I just back from Las Vegas — again. Those of you who follow my Facebook page were in on the secret as soon as I took off, but the trip was so last minute I never had time to announce it here ahead of time. It was a whirlwind trip that showed me an entirely new side of Nevada, one I’m fired up to share with you guys soon. I just can’t get enough of the Silver State! And while it would have been nice to stick around The Strip for the weekend, I had to jet back to New York to watch one of my high school girlfriends get hitched. It was a beautiful wedding that reminded me how important it is to me to be around for these milestones back home, even if it does mean a fifty-four hour turnaround from the airport.
I’m excited about the posts coming up this week which will wrap up my trip to Louisiana and kick off my California coverage, as well as announce the trip I’m heading off on tomorrow morning with a fun giveaway — stay tuned!
Photo A
I never get sick of this view — especially not from atop the new High Roller!
Photo B
Ziplining with a view of Lake Mead (and since I know the blonde hair might be confusing — no, that’s not me!)
Photo C
Sipping at the oldest of Nevada’s four wineries — who knew they even had one?
Photo D
Helicoptering over The Grand Canyon, a non-ironic dream come true
Photo E
Watching my beautiful friend Amanda get hitched!
Which photo is your favorite?
C for me today!!
That was definitely an original experience — well, the whole itinerary was to be honest!
Hi Alex,
Hope you’re doing ok?
Vegas looks amazing and is now sitting alongside my desire to spend time on the west coast of America – again. There is so much I want to explore and the whole idea of coming to Vegas and spending time at a winery – truly appeals to me. (P.S As does the whole Grand Canyon bit!)
I’m gonna go with B. It looks like an awesome ziplining experience!!
It was pretty badass, Justine! Just can’t beat those views of Lake Mead.
Yay, adventure! B it is π
I forget how popular ziplining is! Even in Photo of the Week π
Photo B looks amazing! I can’t wait to hear more about ziplining!
I’ve done it all over the world but this one was seriously original. And I had my GoPro — can’t wait to watch the footage!
That’s a hard one.
I think photo B, although I love D as well π
I’m reflection obsessed — love that about Photo D!
photo E! my bff gets married in 20 days and I cannot wait! I love weddings
Aw, that’s amazing! Is that why you’re home? Can’t wait to see pictures!
I love Pic A. Nightscapes are beautiful.
I couldn’t agree more — and I never get sick of that skyline.
D — you are reminding me I need to get my ass over there already (literally OVER). as an angeleno, grand canyon & yosemite are embarrassing omissions in my travels. so close!!
This was my second time at the Grand Canyon (well, I guess this time over it…) and I still want more! I really want to do a rafting or hiking trip and get right down in there!
I really like your zipline photo. Adrenaline and fun mixed with gorgeous scenery…just can’t beat it! Good luck!
Thanks Corinne! It was a blast.
Photo B!
Definitely the clear winner this week!
Love Picture B – looks amazing!
Wow, B is winning by a mile. And believe it or not… that one is an iPhone snap π
Pic D for me! Possibly because we’re planning on doing the same in just over a month!
Who did you do the helicopter tour with? Did you shop around?
Thanks!
We went with Papillon — link in caption! I was a guest of the tourism board so no shopping around required — a nice change! π
I am choosing photo B. Exhilarating, yet looks frightening.
Thankfully I have no fear of heights, but quite a few in our group were battling some phobias up there! It’s definitely a thrill.
Hey,
Photo B looks very promising but also very very frightning! I think I would not be able to do that. How far does it go down?
Greetings
Joker
I’m not sure the exact numbers… you should check out the website linked in the caption to be sure! It was a thrill though!
That zipline looks insane. My goodness, I don`t think I could go on it.
Your Gravatar image says otherwise π (That’s you ziplining, right?)
Ha, no I am actually only swinging on a vine in the Amazon jungle. So only 2m above the ground. π
You and these kick ass Vegas jaunts! You’re right, sin city never gets old. Now that I’m a west-coaster I’ll be back a lot more, including this weekend! Can’t wait to check out the High Roller. Have you taken on the Stratosphere yet?
A – bc I love Vegas
B – bc ziplining is awesome. and with that view!?
C – bc weddings are beautiful, and your friend’s looks so lovely.
I have not been to the Stratosphere yet — well, except to catch a bus to the Grand Canyon once! Those rides terrify me though π
They are all great but the ziplining looks the most fun so that’s my pick. I’d love to read more about it.
You definitely will, soon! Thanks Jen π
Wow! What a great trip, how long was that zipline?
I’m not sure the exact length, Peter, but I’m sure they brag about it on their website because it was LONG! I’ll be sure to look it up when I write the full post π
Looks amazing! Your pics are incredible, and I love following your experiences π
Thank you so much Drew! I really appreciate that. Thanks for coming along π
