Where does the time go? Two weeks from today, I’ll be arriving in London, the first stop on my next major international adventure. That means it’s crunch time as I try to juggle travel prep, double-time work duty, and my usual round of bittersweet goodbyes. Yesterday I said a tough one to New York, a city I’m passionately in love with but didn’t clock nearly enough time in this summer. It was a blissful week though, filled with rooftop gossip sessions, long walks through Manhattan, and indulgent meals with friends — and capped off with a return to the Coney Island Mermaid Parade! But easing the pain of leaving was the fact that I was heading to Albany, where I’m looking forward to spending seven final days in the comfort of my hometown.
Onto Photo of the Week!

Absolutely love the Lobster guy!
He was quite the character, and all too happy to pose!
A!
Thanks for voting!
Love the sunset photo
Thanks Ashley! I love sitting on my friends’ roof and watching the planes go by. It’s pretty magical up there!
E! Love that sky & skyline.
I’m with you Jamie! I’ll never get sick of sunsets, whether they are over beaches or skylines.
With those clouds and that skyline, I have to go with E. But great job capturing the colorful vibe of the Mermaid Parade!
Thanks! Looking forward to sharing the rest of my photos eventually.
I’ll be in London in Two weeks as well!
I’m a sucker for a sunset so Photo E.
Nice! I might try to throw together a little reader/blogger meetup. Stay tuned! π
I’m going to go with B! Nothing like some wacky-tacky outfits to spice up the day π
And happy happy people π
A
Thanks for voting! Love that flag on the BBQ… so summer.
I can’t believe no once chose “C” – that’s capturing a moment!
I’m actually surprised too! I think that’s my favorite of the week…
I think this time it’s B.
The joy on that face! π
I know! I love these photos because of all the smiling happy people. So much joy!
Photo C! I love the energy in that shot!
Me too! Definitely my fave of the week.
D, because it’s not every day we get to see someone getting lewd with lobster.
Ha, that was all him! I just politely asked if I could take a picture… he picked the pose π
Yay, so fun! I like photo C the best, it captures the exuberance of the day so well π
Funnest day ever! Thanks so much for being my partner in crime!
I say, New York is always a good idea! That sunset photo is lovely!
Thank you! It was worth climbing the fire escape with my dSLR for!
I have to go for A cause I’m really jonesin’ for a NYC fix right now (thinking of going in August, finally!) but C is pretty great too. Love the enthusiasm. The guy’s headpiece in D is amazing but I’m too creeped out by his pose to give him a vote…
Aw, too bad I’ll miss you in New York! You’ll have to give it a big hug for me π
Ahh another Mermaid Parade, wow that year flew! It always looks so fun… B-D, bc they seem to have captured the essence perfectly (lobster guy is hilar). My pick though is E – sunsets and skylines *swoons*
Seriously, the year did fly by! I think this has been my fastest one yet…
Sunset photo is definitely my favorite π Sounds exciting with London. Europe is so amazing this time a year!
I can’t wait! I’ll have a big announcement post about all my destinations before I leave… you know, so I can get everyone’s fabulous advice again π
That sounds great! … but now I’m also really curious ^^ I’m waiting with excitement π
B…captures what I assume the spirit of the Mermaid Parade is all about.
You would love to see it someday, Dad. It might put the Mummers to shame though π
E for sure!
Thanks for voting, Emily! π
If I had to choose between those fabulous Mermaid parade photos it would be Photo D! But they are all great! I must say I’m very jealous of you heading to London… I won’t be home until December!
I’m excited too, can’t wait to see my girls over there!
I can’t decided between photo A and photo E. Love both! Summer is here already! I’m on summer break now so getting ready to leave on Thursday for my summer travels- can’t wait. Say hi to my beautiful London for me. I do miss summers there- it’s the best time. π
It’s the only time I’ve ever been to London, but I still agree π Lovely in the summer!
I like Photo D, sums New Yorkers up nicely haha
We are a proudly quirky people! I love it π
Haha same as us Kiwis, quirky and loving it!
Thanke you for the fabulous Photos!!
i will vote for “C”
smile is the spirit of the basil .. is the conscience perfume and the nearest road to the heart .. is the star in the sky…
Is the sweetest and most beautiful melodies .. is the language of lovers that were unable to speak ..
Thanks Sameer! Poetic as always π
Lobster guy is hilarious but I love A – can’t beat a BBQ!
Not in the summer time, you really can’t! π

He’s got quite the fan base π
Photo B – The Mermaid Parade looks like it’s crazy good fun.
It is indeed π Can’t wait for next year!
