So I’m bending the rules a bit again for this week’s Photo of the Week. I think you’ll agree it’s worth it.
Week 10 of my Photo of the Week project will go down in history as being the week I finally saw a whale shark! I’m going to write much more about this unreal experience and post the video I was shooting at the time for my new employer Fat Fish Movies on Koh Tao, but for now this screen shot from the movie will have to do.
Being underwater with this amazing creature was one of those moments of pure, unfiltered joy that I think are rare in this life but what we are all living for. A highlight of my journey so far, indeed.
Swimming with sharks is pure joy, eh? Who are you and what have you done with my sister that cried when she fell in the water at Marthas Vineyard because of her fear of sharks?
Well, try to think more about the “whale” part of the equation.
Can’t wait to see the video
It’s coming I hope! Just need permission from Fat Fish to post.
OMG I need more details!!!!!!!
Andi have you ever seen one on your diving adventures?
Wow! Love it!
Thank you! It was such a special moment… well, hour.
Please tell me this wasn’t in Ibiza??!
Whale Sharks are amazing, I was lucky enough to see them in Djibouti a couple of years back. Stunning creatures.
Hey, sorry this feature is a bit confusing to new readers. I always blog chronologically and due to an action packed summer I’m a few weeks behind, however the Photo of the Week is a current project and always reflects where I am in this moment as the photo is taken the week it is posted. Right now, that’s Koh Tao!
Wow! Alex, the combination of your unique skills and interests are making for a very exciting life. I’m so proud of you. I can’t wait to hear more about the whale. Alex in wanderland indeed !! 🙂
Thanks so much Laura! Diving into the diving world has been an adventure indeed.
That’s really terrific. Your underwater photos came out incredibly well.
I’m glad I was there with a video camera but it would have been nice to have some real stills as well! Oh well, getting greedy 🙂 Not bad for a video still.
