This Photo of the Week is a bittersweet one — it marks my third and final week with Zoe.
We spent it in style. After leaving Cusco, we hopped down to Lake Titicaca and spent a few days soaking up the peaceful atmosphere before a serious gear shift to festival mode for Puno Day. We kept up the chaos when we pushed on to a serious party hostel in Arequipa with a birthday celebration that stretched three days! It was a very sad goodbye, as I likely won’t see Zoe again until March and I’ve loved having her as a travel buddy.
Now I’m heading into the Colca Canyon with a group I met at the hostel, my final adventure before I wind back to Cusco to hunker down and get to work on some freelancing projects.
Onto this weeks’ photos!

Which photo is your favorite?
So nice to see these familiar scenes through a different eye! It’ll be interesting to hear how you like Cusco as a very temporary base.
I’m going to be thrilled to stay put for a whole week after all this bouncing around, I’ll tell you that much! This super fast travel style definitely takes a toll 🙂
I love A and B…always such a big regret that I never made it to Lake Titicaca while in Peru (or anywhere in the south for that matter – guess it’s time to plan a trip!)
Heck yes! Everyone does the south though — it’s pretty cool though that you saw parts of Peru most tourists never step foot in!
I love Photo B! The colors are amazing!
Thanks Melanie! I can’t wait to show more photos from that festival!
LOVE Photo B!
Thanks for voting, Sky! 🙂
Photo C is my favorite. 🙂
Pretty amazing setting for a festival, eh!?
Your photos this week are awesome! I love them all! Your time in Peru is bringing back so many great and colourful memories 🙂
Aw, I’m so glad to hear that Jade! Thank you!
A and B are BOTH my favorites—how can one chose between such fantastic pics?!?!
Thanks Gram! Love you!
I am going for photo B.
Thanks for voting, Steve!
photo a or b
Thanks for voting Breanna — those seem to be the popular choices this week!
I love the colors in Photo A… but all are seriously beautiful!
Thanks Ashley, that is very sweet!
I’ve got some major catching up to do. Love B, the boat procession looks awesome!
Thanks for always checking back in, Kristen!
Maybe it’s the crafter in me, but I love the textiles in the first picture!
It’s funny, that trip brought back long-repressed memories of a weaving summer camp I went to when I was a kid. I don’t remember a thing, but I think I have a few textile example somewhere to prove I did it!
I love the gorgeous smiling faces in D, that’s the best part of travel 🙂
There’s actually a really funny story behind that photo — can’t wait to tell it when I write the full post 🙂
Photo B looks amazing. I love those boats! I am surprised that they don’t sink actually.
