Sometimes when I see a map of the world hung up on the wall I look at it and think of all the friends I have scattered across the globe. The friendships you make when traveling are a very unique breed: intense, often lifelong, and usually rooted in common lifestyle and passion. This week’s travel quote celebrates that special bond.

Travel Quote: "A journey is best measured in friends, rather than miles." -Tim Cahill

I want to send out a big bundle of love to my travel friends around the world, and more specifically, my friends here on Koh Tao. They take care of me, make me laugh, and always, always respond to my SOS calls. It wouldn’t be the same island without them.

Tell me, readers, have you made lifelong friendships while traveling?

If you consider life a journey the quote is true even if you never leave your home town. Love Dad

Although long term travelers tend to be a introverted lot, the friendships that last through all the miles are well worth it!

    Great post.

You know, while I would definitely classify myself as introverted I think I usually describe other travelers as the opposite! Interesting to hear another perspective.
