So, I’m really stretching the limits of this Photo of the Week project. First, I retroactively changed one of the photos. Next, I took a still from a video. Now, I’m not even trying to pretend I took the picture.*
But I’m okay with it. What started as a technical photography project has become more about documenting the amazing year I’m having traveling the world. If that means sometimes someone else got a better shot than me, I’m open to using it.
This week’s Photo of the Week was taken by Mark, at Sail Rock in Koh Tao, on the first “fun dive” we’ve been on together since we went to Honduras last year. We had a great time shooting photo and video and without me knowing Mark snapped this picture. I was hoping to shoot some good stock footage to use for work in the future but the conditions were poor. Still, it was fun to get out and be creative at my own pace. The visibility was terrible, I’m a bit out of focus and there’s a big bubble in front of my face but there’s something about this photo I really love.
*Technically I appear in Week 1 and Week 11, though I set up and “art directed” those shots, so it’s not really cheating.
I will take your word for it that you are the woman behing the gear. Amazing to see you doing this. Love
