Some of the most common work Heather does — and thus I do, as her intern — is family portrait sessions on the beach. Again, I thought I’d share a little of the work I’ve been up to while I’m not off playing in paradise!

Sandy Snaps

When I first arrived in Cayman, Heather and I did a huge marketing push, going up and down Seven Mile Beach to all the condos, introducing ourselves, showing Heather’s portfolio, and giving out brochures. Well it’s finally starting to pay off! Heather was recommended to the Deason family by one of those condos, and I’m so glad because they were a great group for my first time shooting a family portrait session. Not only were parents, all three kids and boyfriends and girlfriends all present, but one couple had gotten engaged that very week on the beach so it was a combined engagement session/family portrait session all in one.

Shooting Seaside

This session was fantastic. It was only my second family portrait session, but already I felt more comfortable. This was also our second shoot at London House, which was nice because we had already kind of scouted out the best locations to shoot. The whole family was very photogenic and energetic and the hour flew by. Someone stopped Heather and I on the beach and asked for a business card, so it must have looked like we were having fun, which was cool!

Thank you! I can’t take credit for setting up that shot though, its one of Heather’s signature shots she does. But I’m developing some of my own as well!
