I always struggle with Photo of the Week when I’m in Albany. It’s true that great photography can happen anywhere, but I rarely so much as pick up my dSLR when I’m here. And this week, the weather hasn’t left me very inspired. A heavy cloud cover that hasn’t budged has me feeling like I’m living under a gray tarp. That said, it is great to be back in my hometown and see all the people I love who live here.
I’m staying put here for the coming week and need to shift into productivity hyper-drive as the last three weeks of May are going to see me hopping all over the United States on some exciting trips I can’t wait to announce! So basically I’m hoping to magically obtain some super powers overnight that allow me to complete a months worth of work in a mere seven days. Stay tuned for those developments, and in the meantime, onto the Photo of the Week candidates…

Which photo is your favorite?
When we aren’t travelling I feel the same way as far as photos (my Instagram totally rocks when we travel!), but I like your shots. For a favourite, I would go with C π
Thanks Emily π I appreciate that!
Photo B for the puppies, duh! And I’m the same about photos when I’m not traveling, though sort of to a stupid extent because my home base is Chiang Mai and we all know Thailand is super photogenic. But I’m leaving for Egypt on Tuesday, so soon my camera can get some playing time again, phew!
I know! I wish I was better too about bringing out my camera when I’m just hanging with friends. I want to remember those silly dinners and fun nights out when I’m home, too. But I think since I’m so “on” with my camera when I’m traveling I just can’t stand to look at it when I’m home, ha.
Those pups!!! I cannot go past them. But the others are great too! I seriously cannot imagine what ‘Hyper productive’ looks like for Alex in Wanderland and am having an anxiety attack just thinking about it π Good luck!
Well, I have recently cut a post a week out of my posting schedule and it has made a huge difference! I feel a lot better about it, for now and thus far no one has complained π But basically I’m going to try to pre-schedule as many posts as possible and also get my freelance stuff in before I go.
Hi! I have never commented before but I love your blog and find it very inspirational in many ways… Thank you for brightening up my inbox! I love number photo B! Very cute and great timing π
Hi Sarah! Thank you so much for this lovely comment. You made my morning! I hope you’ll keep commenting π
I like the dogs. They seem to be having a moment!
They were π They’ve been buddies since they were pups!
Wow, I’m so excited to read about your plans for the States! I’m sure I remember you saying that you experience lighter traffic when you post from the US, but I really love reading blogs about that side of travel – being home!
Anyway, I really love photo C. Having worked in a bar for years, I appreciate a good array of drinks!
Enjoy your time! xx
I actually have a lot of posts coming up about traveling in the US… my next stops after Costa Rica were Louisiana and California, so hopefully everyone sticks around for those π
Gray skies make great pictures. Think outside the tropical box and show us Albany or anywhere USA.
I love all three photos:
The clown is freaky ’50s
The dogs are communicating
The wine on the bar is relief
I think some gray skies make great pictures, but you have to have the dramatic lighting. The gray it’s been here lately is just, how can I describe it…. yuck. Things have been picking up the last few days though, it will be spring here someday soon!
I’ll choose photo A. It is sad when images of childhood disappear.
Agreed. Heartbroken about the Playland closing, and I’m sure they’ll just replace it with yet another strip mall.
Like duh??……B
Tucker is honored.
B is so cute, but I remember A well. So I vote for A.
I’m so sad to hear this is the final season. I always loved that place so much.
I’m a dog person, so I vote for photo B. Tucker is such a cutie! His “friend” in the other car looks a bit angry though… π
Ha, french bulldogs can be quite fierce π
Photo A. So nostalgic!
I hope I get one last spin on the merry go round before they close this summer! x
